Schenn linked to Ottawa
IF Schenn were to get traded to Ottawa who would you like back?
For me some players I would be interested in is Carter Yak, Kaliyev, Bourgault
Id even retain and throw in an extra lesser prospect like Stancl if we could nab Carter Yak

There is not a snowballs chance that Ott would trade Yakemchuk for SchennZizzle1297 wrote: ↑24 Dec 2025 15:23 pm IF Schenn were to get traded to Ottawa who would you like back?

the two guys mentioned it on Blues Digest that Freidman or Pagnotta had said something!

What are the chances Ottawa is not included on his 15-team no-trade list?

Pagnotta is Eklund level, Friedman if true would be a bit more weight behind it.
I don't see much on Ottawa from him in this regard, he talked a couple months back about Toronto. So most likely that this rumor is baseless.
I'd think Schenn would mostly just want to be somewhere he could win if he were to move. Ottawa is in slightly better shape, but only just. Best place to go is a team that is mostly young and up and coming for both the blues and for him. Anaheim would probably be the best suited for all parties involved if we were to spitball locations.

Halliday and a 2nd rounder. Halliday can step right in and play here now. My guess is there is a better return for Schenn out there though
Re: Schenn linked to Ottawa
Ridly Greig would be in the age group Army is looking to add to. He's got jam to his game and can play some center.

Re: Schenn linked to Ottawa
If we are playing a bit of a 'if there was legitimacy, who would you want' on this move, Hensler would not be nhl ready, but would 100% be on my short list of players. Has the speed, has the size, just needs a bit of time and polish to improve the offensive side of things, and is a right handed shot as well. I don't know that they'd be willing to make the move, but the price pick wise is about a 1st round pick, and he wasn't a top 10 pick but a 23rd overall iirc. Think it's easier for them to let him go than the other big right handed defensemen they have coming through the pipeline.
And in any deal, i'd be fine dealing wingers to make it happen. I feel like we have more than a few coming up through the system. I don't think that it would be a Hensler that we'd need to add value for.
I'm ok with taking Eller back in cap hit, but not super interested in the blues retaining a ton thereafter. I'm not seeing a ton more that fits the bill of what we need that i think they'd move.

Re: Schenn linked to Ottawa
I have no idea who Ottawa would move, or even that much about their team and players. However, these are their roster players in the age group:
Stutzle 23
Cozens 24
Zetterlund 26
Pinto 25
Greig 23
Halliday 23
Sanderson 23
Kleven 23
Spence 24
I'd like to know more about Kleven.
As far as prospects:
Jenik 25
Thomson 25
Kaliyev 24
Boucher 22
Pettersson 21
Donovan 21
Hamara 21
Bourgault 23
Toure 22
Chiasson 22
I'd like to know more about Jenik, Thomson, Kaliyev, Pettersson, and Hamara. Seems like all of the 'prospects' in this age range are cast offs and busts.

Yeah but he’s a local. He grew up there and his wife is from there. He already spent his offseasons in Ottawa before signing with them.crookedfeeder wrote: ↑24 Dec 2025 19:34 pmGirouxBalotelliMassive wrote: ↑24 Dec 2025 18:41 pmYeah....who doesn't have that hockey wasteland on their list?bluetunehead wrote: ↑24 Dec 2025 16:03 pm What are the chances Ottawa is not included on his 15-team no-trade list?
