The Q & A came from both Boston and Cardinal writers too.
Bloom analyzes each of the 3 pitchers acquired in the WIllyCon deal .
He also discusses further additions :
Says with Burley getting more time at 1st base , the team in short term would want a 'bat' ..right handed either in OF or IF righty too.
Wants an experienced reliever for the bullpen too.

Are the Red Sox a terrible organization that deserves massive hate and should be rebuilt? Why would they want any Cardinals? Just wondering, if our guys are good enough for Boston that play in a much deeper and tougher division than St. Louis?

No, the Red Sox believe they are in the position you believe the Cardinals are in: the position of being a couple key pieces away from being able to vie for their division and going deep in the playoffs. It remains to be seen if that belief is just as dumb as yours regarding the Cardinals.

IMO the Gray and Contreras fit with the Red Sox better than the Cards because with the Red Sox they won’t be expected to be the best players on the team. Gray with us was needed to be our ace. With Boston he slides down to the 2 or 3. Contreras with us was being asked to be the best hitter in the lineup. I expect Boston to sign another big bat such as Bregman or Bichette and to trade for a Marte or Donovan. That makes a big difference.

No, the difference is Sox fans are some of the best fans in baseball! They pack Fenway, spend a lot, are loyal to their team, don't boycott etc.
If the Cards were drawing 3 million still, they could go get some players too. You haters wouldn't even sell out playoff games at very reasonable prices.

Well maybe if you haters didn't wreck St. Louis like you do the Cardinals there might 2 million more people here also. Cardinals fans are not just the people of the St. Louis metro area, they're spread out hundreds of miles, maybe more.
Fenway is old but not a dump, they put a lot of time and money renovating it. Sox fans love it and is probably about the perfect size for the game today.

Hey Moe, hit the road already. No one is buying your revisionist history. You sucked, you did a terrible job, yet you were paid handsomely and for much too long.
Be Thankful for that and stop Harassing Cardinal Nation. We were here before you and we are here after you. Go kick rocks. Elsewhere!!!

I'm not John Mozeliak, I'm Ike Hammett!
Mr. Mo worked for and with an owner and ownership group. They brought the greatest run in Cardinals history, that you destroyed. You are the harassing, never really ever heard him harass anyone, just tried to do his best to bring great baseball, fun times for working people, build and maintain excellent facilities for the community and be a good member of St. Louis.
I will take a million more of him and you kick rocks!

Good stuff, thx for sharing RFD.
Just as I've been saying for a long time now, C. Bloom can walk (restock the farm system w/young arms) & chew gum (he reiterated that he's not trashing 2026 and is looking to add a RH bat to the OF or even infield, some veteran RP's and possibly a veteran starting pitcher) at the same time!
It sounds like BDWJr has possibly even given him the ok to re-invest some of the off-the-books contract savings into this years team, another thing I was hoping Dewitt would do.

Yea bloom himself said the payroll would be about what it was last season but people ignored that and started huffing and puffing and throwing tantrums because they traded gray and Contreras when what he’s doing is trading them to free up as much money as he can and bring in more prospects. He’s going to sign another veteran starter a reliever or two probably a bat and probably trade Donovan for another bat and starting pitching prospect. I like what bloom is doing. He has said he wants to compete in 2026 but not at the expense of the future I believe him

Yep, I like it too Oz.
That's what some are missing.
The payroll savings that (hopefully) Dewitt is going to let him re-invest back into the 2026 roster (and doing so doesn't alter from the L-T goal of re-building from within, nor does it take away from future payroll) could mean 2026 isn't the "throw-away" season some think it's going to be.
