Nice Pete! My wife and went to Italy and Austria in September for 2 weeks and had a wonderful time. I really loved Austria! Missed a Salzburg hockey game by one day!

Nice Pete! My wife and went to Italy and Austria in September for 2 weeks and had a wonderful time. I really loved Austria! Missed a Salzburg hockey game by one day!

I would have LOVED to make it south a few times (it was COLD)... I was on a NATO mission and based out of Poland mostly, but spent most of my time traveling between Poland, Finland and Sweden. The whole time I only caught two games (both in Sweden). I was lured to take that assignment (by my so-called friends) so I could see some Euro-hockey, and the bast*#@'s lied to me. If they weren't my brothers, I'd be mad at them.

I didn't, but to be honest I wasn't really looking...

On another note (yes, pun intended), I was completely taken by how many folks in Sweden were Blues fans. I wore my hoodie to a bar in Solna (a burb of Stockholm) and once they found out I was FROM St Louis everyone was trying to buy me drinks and talk hockey. We talked about Stenberg and Lindstein, but I was surprised that they also talked heavily about the Czek kids that played in their league.

Swedish bars on Hockey night are VERY Blues friendly.

LOL, funny you bring that up.

This old fisherman (well-dressed though) went on-and-on about how the Blues got the STEAL OF THE DRAFT with Love. Sure-fire 1st rounder according to Axel (his name). He was fun though, and must have been a handful when he was younger.
