Not sure the exact dollar Pribula was getting last year, I have read anywhere from 1-1.5 million.
So my thought process is we need a top QB to take us to the next level. Mizzou cannot go into next season with Matt Zollers as your number one guy. Then you sign a back up who is no better than what we had this year. What if Zollers would get hurt in the first game, there goes the season once again.
Spend the money, again I have read the upper QB"s in the portal are going to cost 2 million and up.
Before you say we need to spend that money elsewhere, if you have an average QB you might win 6=8 games - but I thought we want more.
Several major quarterbacks are going into the portal including Brendan Sorsby from the Cincinnati Bearcats, DJ Lagway from the Florida Gators, Dylan Raiola from the Nebraska Cornhuskers, and Josh Hoover from the TCU Horned Frogs, also Rocco Becht, the star quarterback for the Iowa State Cyclones just said he was going into the portal. If a team like Louisville is going all in for a top QB why not Missouri.
Zollers did not play most of his last year in high school, then got limited playing time this year, I just don't think a SEC team can feel he is going to take us to the next level. He is just not ready.
I would like to see a top O.C. come in along with a top QB, Zollers stay and learn a system then
take over once the top QB moves on.

Stan, send me a PM, and I can let you know how to get involved in a collective.
Then you can actually do something about this situation.

What makes you think a QB who was recruited by blue bloods like Georgia and Penn State is going to stick around and not play through a second year of usedstanw wrote: ↑21 Dec 2025 10:24 am Not sure the exact dollar Pribula was getting last year, I have read anywhere from 1-1.5 million.

How does Zollers get "ready" if he doesn't play? You can't coach a kid who doesn't experience live bullets in real action.
What message does that send Sidwar or any other high ceiling QB MU hopes to recruit in the future?
Im not saying you hand the job over without a fight but I'd be saying the same thing if you go out and buy another QB.

For 11WSChamps, Do you really feel that Zollers is ready to be your day 1 SEC starter for 2026 ?
are you going into the season with another freshman QB as your back up with no college games under his belt. I would like to see them sign Rocco Becht,he is a 3 year starter, so he would be a one and done, but Zollers could learn from him, get in a few games, then be ready to start in 2027.

Agree that Becht would be an interesting guy to go after. His dad coaches in St. Louis? Bring him home to Missouri?
Top 5 portal QB's right now:
1. Sorsby (Cincinnati)
2. Lagway (Florida)
3. Raiola (Nebraska)
4. Becht (Iowa State)
5. Hoover (TCU)

So under your scenario what makes Zollers suddenly ready for 2027? Because he'll be year older and plays a few quarters against non conference blood donors?stanw wrote: ↑21 Dec 2025 17:44 pmFirst off for winonsport I already do donate for the NIL -- Competitive Excellence Football- you also can donate there.11WSChamps wrote: ↑21 Dec 2025 10:48 amWhat makes you think a QB who was recruited by blue bloods like Georgia and Penn State is going to stick around and not play through a second year of usedstanw wrote: ↑21 Dec 2025 10:24 am Not sure the exact dollar Pribula was getting last year, I have read anywhere from 1-1.5 million.

That's ridiculous.
If you’re just going to pluck a QB out of the portal every season which MU isnt going to do by the way then why recruit Zollers and Sidwar?
You spend a ton of time and money trying to land these types of talents because you develop them then play them, so you can coach them.
Re: 1 Million to 2.5 Million
Becht is likely headed to Penn St. Makes too much sense. Sorsby is likely headed to Texas Tech. No thanks on Raiola. Lagway has never done anything special. I'd go after Byrum Brown. Word is Missouri is targeting Harvard's QB.stanw wrote: ↑21 Dec 2025 17:44 pmFirst off for winonsport I already do donate for the NIL -- Competitive Excellence Football- you also can donate there.11WSChamps wrote: ↑21 Dec 2025 10:48 amWhat makes you think a QB who was recruited by blue bloods like Georgia and Penn State is going to stick around and not play through a second year of usedstanw wrote: ↑21 Dec 2025 10:24 am Not sure the exact dollar Pribula was getting last year, I have read anywhere from 1-1.5 million.
