Marmol answered questions about eight players. Kind of interesting.
For example, he said that Contreras will stay at 1B, no catching at all, period, for the Cardinals. On JJ, he's glad JJ got to play 2B, SS & 3B because Cards don't yet know where he'll end up; depends on the infielders still here.
Also answered questions about Doyle, Gorman, Walker, Leahy, Winn & Herrera. Pretty insightful & revealing, tbh. You all ought to watch it.
Thanx Ram!

You’re quite welcome ! Yes, Oli gave a very good interview. He came across better than I have seen in most interviews.okcardfan wrote: ↑17 Dec 2025 09:47 am Marmol answered questions about eight players. Kind of interesting.

I also hope others watch it.

Ok, so Oli said, “ if you don’t like the line ups, batting orders, or the pullpen usage, that’s all on me”. “ Nobody is telling me to do this or that” .
I respect him for owning up to that, but I sure hope, in the near future, that maybe he will listen to somebody who knows better how to do the lineups. Who knows when to hit and run, allow base stealers to steal bases, use the bunt when called for, and if Scott won’t do it on his own, make him do it! Maybe if a starter is cruising, with a low pitch count, let him continue, even if that doesn’t follow the script. I do think the players like playing for him, but they seemed, at times, to not be prepared to play on a certain days.
I think he is getting better, but will it be enough?
