What might a Contreras trade look like?

Post by Shady »

Money sent, if any at all, and player/players returned. Any chance to get a fairly young, productive MLB outfielder for him? Maybe an upgrade over Nootbaar.

I share my trade outlooks pretty freely on here, and it's an interestng question, but this time you go first- what do you think a Contreras trade might look like?

Like most trades. Assets swapping teams.

Bloom will call some team or be called about Contreras. Discussions will ensue and as Absolut noted there may be a swap of assets. Or maybe the team doesn't like the amount of cash the Cards are willing to send and discussions then pivot to Burleson.

What are some teams that might have an oversupply of young outfielders? Including at the AAA level. And could use a veteran 1B or even a catcher. That's who I'd be contacting.

Every team already knows this data; and huge amounts more about each and every player. There are no secrets at this point.

I have a detailed answer (that isn't a wise-guy reply) ready, but I'm not giving it away for free today. I would like to know what you think a Contreras trade might look like.

So your big insight is you would contact teams that have a need at the two positions Contreras plays, and have a surplus at positions the Cardinals need? Hmm, seems highly original. Have you contacted Bloom about this plan?

C'mon Shady. I have a quality post loaded to go, just waiting on you. How would you answer some of the questions you have posed?

But that would involve research and work he'd rather have others do for him.

I'm not sure which teams Contreras would accept a trade to. Are you ? You must have an idea if you have a "quality post loaded". Go for it.

For the sake of “good hot stove talk” (as you claim your threads are), assume Contreras would accept whatever destinations you have in mind. Now, go ahead and answer TB’s question. We’re all anxiously awaiting your thoughts.
