Jarmo gets hired again

Post by Frank Underwood »

Buffalo finally fired Kevyn Adams and hired Jarmo as GM. I think Jarmo is overrated, but maybe he can figure it out in Buffalo. They have a lot of young talent to work with, so maybe he can get them over the hump. We’ll see.

Maybe we can catch him in a trade trying to make some kind of an immediate splash??

I don’t see Jarmo as the best possible hire for Buffalo. I have my doubts…..but I guess we will see

It’s about time. I’m not sure why it took Buffalo so long to kick him to the curb. I’m not convinced Jarmo is a major upgrade, but at this point, he almost has to do a better job than Adams did.

Jarmo won't be afraid to make big changes if they're needed. Assuming the Pegula family is allowing him to do so. He might be just what the Sabres need.

In Buffalo there was some rumors on moving Mattias Samuelsson, Jarmo may make some big changes, Mattias he is not bad D man

Not sure why this is anyway a suprise. They brought him in this summer as a "senior adviser/consultant". Adams had to know if the Sabres weren't in a playoff spot by American Thanksgiving that he would be on thin ice. Jarmo is overrated imo a lot of wasted 1st rounders when he is in charge - does anyone remember Kerby Reichel, Marko Dano Gabriel Carlsson?

I've seen this rumor on here a few times now. If valid, I am wondering why they would want to move Samuelsson. Looks like a great contract that I wouldn't mind the Blues taking on. Maybe that changes with Jarmo? Whatever the case, there are a few guys on the Sabres that would have my interest.

That'd be a big assumption, I think. Reading up on their situation, it seems Adams being a Yes Man is what kept him around so long.

At least they hired a GM with actual pro hockey and actual GM experience. That's a step in the right direction at least.

Jarmo was a very good youth evaluator, and a mediocre GM. While I think the move on from Adams was long overdue, i'm kinda meh on the fit. The Sabres have no sandpaper, no real dedication behind their game, the last time i saw them some of their top guys skate really fast one way and not the other, and thats been the problem for years.

Adams played a significant nhl career much more than jarmo ( who didn't).

I wonder if the Pegulas will hire a President of Hockey Operations that Jarmo would report to. Brendan Shanahan is available and wants another opportunity, although I don't know if he would want to go to Buffalo.

It always amazed me how the Pegulas could operate the Buffalo Bills, who have had a long run of success, and the Sabres, who have been bad for so long.
