Runners in scoring position.

Post by sikeston bulldog2 »

Good morning.

It’s 445. I’m headed for the slow way home. All by myself. I feel so all alone. Not far away..

How to get a runner in scoring position. They either hit their way there, are put/sacrificed there, or steal there.

Our team. Low doubles, even less triples. We don’t play small ball. And we have one base stealer, who can’t get on base.
This is on top of being 29th in homeruns.
What to do?

We must acquire the best atheletic talents. Not the most powerful. A team with 2-3 doubles hitters will greatly improve the offensive output. Many doubles score the runner from first. Just as effective as the bomb.

Walker. As hard as he hits, I look for more doubles. That’s one.
An acquisition. That’s two.

Nado. If still here, I see a new hitter. Singles and doubles, minimal home runs.

Scott. Duel threat. Can hit for many doubles. Our base stealer. It must be a number one team objective to get him on base.

The key to this age baseball is runners on base. Next, scoring positions. Next RBI’s.

A doubles hitting team will perform just as well as a power team.

Thoughts on this cold winters day. When all the leaves are brown. And the wind blows.

Here me calling.
