That $23M per year is $4M more per year than Josh Hader received ($19M) just a couple years ago.
These top relievers are getting some big bucks now.

...and this trend will continue, due to the starting pitchers average innings per game dropping so much.

Are they dropping because the manager pulls pitchers earlier, poor performance, or stamina/endurance.

The same could be said for the effects on career wins, seasonal wins, by way of no decisions, and reliever wins.

Data crunching supports most pitchers dramatically decline 3rd time through. Can’t fight the computer

That’s wild- dramatically decline. Then, most pitchers.

Why is third time thru the end- stamina, offensive adjustments.

So the Quality Start is a bridge too far most cases.

Definitely expensive though it's basically covered for this year with Kirby Yates ($13m), Michael Kopech ($5.2m), and Evan Phillips ($6.1m) coming off the books.

They also still have Tanner Scott ($12.8m) and Blake Treinen ($8.5) plus a few others. It may be a $50-60m bullpen before they're done. Pretty crazy.

I'd like to hear the small to mid market owners say something about a salary cap. This is ridiculous.
