Henry Josey had 120 yards in a preseason game but was then cut. I really wonder why he never made a team. To date he was the best runner in a Mizzou jersey I’ve ever seen, because my childhood memory of Wilder isn’t very good, and I don’t go farther back than that. He had insane breakaway speed and knew where the holes were. Schrader was unbelievable too but didn’t have the speed of Josey.

Gerry Ellis, Green Bay Packers had five different 100 yard games the last being in 1985.

What is amazing is Ellis, Wilder and Earl Gant all played for Mizzou at the same time (all were superlative NFL running backs).

Wilder’s last 100 yard game came in 1986. Can it really be 40 seasons since a Mizzou RB had 100 yards in an NFL game? They’ve had some great college RB’s, from Wallace to Schrader, but none really made a mark in the NFL. Mike Jones was a RB at Mizzou, but is best known for his game saving tackle in the Super Bowl.

Tyler was a miss, really wish we’d have gotten him!

We have had just a ton of productive college RB’s who I guess didn’t translate to the NFL. Being a RB in the NFL is a tough gig. They turn em and burn em now.

I know the league is very good. I believe Josey, Roundtree, Badie and Schrader are all good enough to start i the NFL.

Robert Delphino had over 100yds in week 2 in 1991 with Rams. Also, Brad Smith had 92yds in the final game of 2009. While he was a RB that game, not sure I would call him a true RB. Jets lined him up all over the place.

You got me. I watched "Russell" run all over aTm one year (2014?) in the rain. The Aggie faithful weren't happy, I loved it.

My two favorite running backs in Mizzou history are James Wilder and Johnny Roland.
Roland played for Mizzou in early 60's and was great. I remember Roland in the '65 Orange Bowl where he helped Mizzou take down Steve Spurrier and the Florida Gators. Roland later played in NFL for the "Gird Birds" and was a NFL running backs coach for several NFL teams.
As for Wilder, I will never forget him "taking down" the Cornhuskers in 1978 game scoring four touchdowns in 35 -31 win.
He wasn't nicknamed the "Sikeston Bulldog" for nothing. The man was a "beast".

One other note - In high school, Roland led his high school team to win over Jimmy Johnson's high school team.
I am sure Jimmy Johnson knows Roland well!
