...one of the studs from Springfield.
but seriously, deserving on his part.

Re: Luff Called Up
So I guess Akil is Springfield bound then. Hoping both Luff and Kaski play tomorrow.

I think that it's time for a transition - one of the expensive vets has to be sacrificed and the youth movement has to take place. This is a great draft to have a lottery pick or two...

I wonder why they called up Luff? Maybe they want the younger guys to keep playing together in Springfield.
Re: Luff Called Up
He's gotta be in for Buch, right?
Right?
Right?

But bringing up a 28-year-old who's 62nd in AHL scoring is not about that!
Re: Luff Called Up
Hey, he's from Oakville
Re: Luff Called Up
My guess is Luff is here fir insurance and that Kaskimaki will play.
Blues need a "vet" that can step in easy if need be.

He’s the T-birds leading scorer. He has 27 pts in 106 games of NHL experience. He’s also 6’3” and plays the style of game to where he likely wouldn’t look out of place on an NHL 4th line. He’s nothing special but is the best option at the moment.Frank Underwood wrote: ↑03 Dec 2025 17:30 pm I wonder why they called up Luff? It’d be nice if we had another young stud that was NHL ready but we don’t. Stenberg, Pekarcik etc just aren’t ready yet. If they recall a young rookie that’s performing well below a vet then good luck getting the vet, career minor leaguer types to keep signing with you.
When a guy like Luff is the best option, you call him up.

I appreciate all the opinions.
Will be watching to see.

Re: Luff Called Up
Yeah, I saw some bad info on X……said he had 2 goals and 2 assists. Those are actually stats from 2022 with Detroit, not this year with Springfield. He’s certainly not the next coming of Brett Hull, but if he deserves the call up, then good for him.STL fan in MN wrote: ↑03 Dec 2025 18:11 pmHe’s the T-birds leading scorer. You can still sign them, they’re just happy to get jobs.STL fan in MN wrote: ↑03 Dec 2025 18:11 pmHe’s the T-birds leading scorer. He has 27 pts in 106 games of NHL experience. Re: Luff Called Up
Good for him. 4th line energy guy with some physicality. He’ll give it his all if he gets in the lineup. Even career minor leaguers deserve a game here and there, but as others have said, not a difference maker. We don’t have any of those ready, and even those here (Dvo) are having their growing pains.
