Tough schedule

Post by Younghopp1991 »

I was just looking at the schedule and unless STL has some spiritual awakening we are in for a ride.
3 games in the next 4 days
Ott with brady coming back
Utah always plays us tough
Ducks are exciting

December does not seem forgiving neither and january looks worse.
I guess we will know the plan soon. I just dont see anywhere in the next 2 months where we can even get anything going. I really dont want them to get it going if the extremes are this crazy. Im interested in what some of you think is realistic based on the upcoming schedule.

Heart - I always hope they go on a run and make the playoffs as it’s the most exciting hockey, and better when we are in it.

Head - I don’t see us having the horses this year. Our top players aren’t having even normal years, so we rank very low in scoring (Thomas, Kyrou, Holloway, Broberg). Our vets seemed like they aged 10 years overnight and aren’t producing nearly enough (Buch, Schenn, Fowler, Parayko). Our rookies are doing ok, but not lighting it up to a point where their youthful exuberance is a difference (Dvo, Snuggs, LM). Goalies aren’t having great years and we are near the bottom of the league. Supporting cast is playing just ok. Faulk, Suter and Neighbours are playing well. If it was just one area struggling, I would be more confident. I’m doubting all of the above have that light switch moment like last season.

Sooooooo……I’ll root for them every game, but expecting a top 10 pick, and if that’s the case, might as well sell some vets and get a top 5.

Very well written. I agree on basically everything. Thre is a point in a season where its ok to say “its time to get a little younger and more skilled, we better take advantage of this.”

It is a bit stunning isn't it. This team at least on paper has the talent to be a playoff team. It's common to have a player or two not at the top of their game, but now half the team is. I would say the only good thing is that they are not playing well, yet they are getting points. At this point they are simply treading water. Falling behind, but not out of it yet.

I'm at a point where I'm watching each game to spot the turn around. The moment.

Pretty old right now after 7 OT losses.

Might as well bring them all on and find out soon if some of these players are going to provide the spark this team desperately needs.

Yeah, waiting for some forwards to break out. Even one with a multi-goal game would be nice. Hat trick? Seemingly impossible at this juncture. How about a couple of guys with multi-goal games? How about not having a top-9 center who hasn't scored at ES in his NHL career?

Well it was a really good road trip. They deserved better results than they got. I agree that the team needs someone just one player to break out offensively. That has been holding the team back.

Structurally the Blues look very good. The forwards and defense are more connected and goaltending has stabilized. They didn’t have a single game where they scored more than 2 goals in these past 5 games yet they went 1-1-3.

If they continue to play this way AND also get some goal scoring then the Blues will also get a lot of wins.
