Drinks new extension offer...
...from BOC is reportedly 6 yrs. No other details mentioned but 'sources' are saying is contingent on a new OC and ST coach. So +2 wks of tantrums from Drink and his agent have again paid off. Is this just how P4 foorbal is now? Given the sorry post game presser after the miserable loss to OU, where Drink took no real accountability, I am starting to wonder what the heck kind of coach MU has.

Looks like Drink has thrown Kirby Moore under the bus if these contract demands are true for his stanky offense and allowing Moore to be the fall guy. What a guy!

You really think he walked into that meeting and bad mouthed these coaches to save his own skin?JackBolly wrote: ↑26 Nov 2025 22:35 pm ...from BOC is reportedly 6 yrs. These coaches and players use the term brotherhood frequently.
After 6 years do you really believe he would have the success he's had recruiting and especially in the portal if there was whispers from present or former players of not having loyalty or integrity?
He has said numerous times after losses that its on him to get better.
It's not the first and it won't be the last time a head coach has to fire a coordinator or an assistant.
Wilks was fired and the defense has gotten much better.
He never seems to never get any credit for that around here, I wonder why?
Now if indeed a new OC is part of the deal let's see how it shakes out. If the team flounders than it may be time for Drinkwitz to go.

Contract extension details here:

"Pete Thamel
@PeteThamel
Missouri coach Eliah Drinkwitz has agreed to a new contract with the school, he announced. Per ESPN sources, there’s an increase in salary for Drinkwitz to an average of more than $10.7 million over the deal and an increased commitment to staff and salary pool.
He’ll make $10.25 million in 2026, per sources, which an increase from the $9 million he’s making in 2025. Missouri won double-digit games in 2023 and 2024 and has qualified for a bowl for the sixth consecutive year.
It'll be a six-year deal for Drinkwitz, who is 45-28 in his six seasons at the school. He went 12-1 in his lone season at Appalachian State in 2019 prior to coming to Missouri."

Alright then. Go get to work.
And don’t lose to Arkansas tomorrow. Win that and the bowl and then have an amazing off season. Make the needed moves if necessary. Hit the ground running next fall.

Re: Drinks new extension offer...
That contract seems reasonable as long as it stays here and is not a perpetual adjustment every year like it has been so far. This contract is based on his potential, so the next two years he needs to show he can beat some top teams. Next 2 years we will play 5-6 top 25 teams each year so if we do not start beating them this contract will start to tarnish quickly. I wonder what the details around what he owes if he leaves before 6yrs, or what the buyout is if Mizzou wants to go in another direction. Those two numbers really tell how committed each side is to a contract.

'Sources' are telling me this is largely fictitious.JackBolly wrote: ↑26 Nov 2025 22:35 pm ...from BOC is reportedly 6 yrs. Given Drinks new deal, if we lose to Arkie, I’m popping popcorn and reading this forum.

I’m a Drink supporter. I think this is a good thing for the program. All that said, as I’ve said on here many a time, Mizzou neglects other highly popular SEC sports like baseball in order to keep up in football. But at some point, is it worth it to neglect other important sports and be middle of the pack in football? Baseball has a terrible coach, and has gone from competitive under Bieser to a joke in 2 years under Jackson. Fire him, hire a real coach, pump money into the baseball program, and be competitive again. Maybe even, dare I say, really good?rezero wrote: ↑27 Nov 2025 10:45 am That contract seems reasonable as long as it stays here and is not a perpetual adjustment every year like it has been so far. Back to football, if we don’t make a playoff or two within the next 3-5 years and if we don’t have an SEC title, it won’t have been worth the fortune we’re spending on football.

You’d have to get MagicMan’s permission to fire the baseball coach. He’s (Magic) kind of a big deal if you didn’t already know.Armchair QB wrote: ↑27 Nov 2025 13:23 pmI’m a Drink supporter. I know Magic is a good Mizzou fan. But if he’s a Jackson guy, I’ll have to respectfully disagree. Jackson is a terrible coach. No business coaching in college, much less an SEC school.Rojo Johnson wrote: ↑27 Nov 2025 13:51 pmYou’d have to get MagicMan’s permission to fire the baseball coach. Re: Drinks new extension offer...
will wait and see if he does indeed Fire the useless Moore to decide if MU FB is worth following anymore. He has been awful all season and he was bad last year as well. Just does not have a effective scheme in most games and is so predictable. Does NOT use his assets to their strengths near enough and his RZ playcalling is miserable.
ST is another weakness year after year. I have been a big Eli supporter since he Fired himself as OC but it's time he took the next step because he won't have the Uber easy schedules like he did for last 3 years.
Could look back on this as the albatross of the FB program while the BB program is about to take off with massive successes of this recruiting class should really elevate the program.

Well what are they supposed to do if not go all in on the football program in this conference?Armchair QB wrote: ↑27 Nov 2025 13:23 pmI’m a Drink supporter. Believe me MU could win a natty in baseball and if the football team isnt relevant only a small handful of people are going to give a (bleep) and I'm the biggest baseball fan you'll ever know.
Football drives the boat more now than ever. LSU, Penn St., and Florida can't find enough top candidates to consider let alone hire yet.
With the portal and paying players there's going to be less ideal choices when it comes to changing head coaches.
Im as frustrated as anyone with the close but no cigar [nonsense] but starting all over again after being this close isnt needed at this time.
