MLB Pipeline picked best from ages 16thru 25
JJ was the 23 year old selection .
The West Virginia star might have been the first overall pick in the 2024 Draft had he not dealt with hamstring issues his junior season, but he's looking every bit of the pure hitter scouts hoped he'd become now that he's healthy. His pure, low-effort swing from the left side provides pop to all fields, and he racks up elite contact rates (79 percent) while maintaining a discerning eye. Wetherholt is a good bet to start the year in St. Louis, although the exact infield position may depend on the Cardinals' offseason moves.

Saw that too
Also thought R. Rodriguez might get age 18 but Brewers SS J. Made got it w/M. Holliday's other boy Ethan runner-up.

Forget he was that old. Almost not a prospect anymore.

23 is old enough to be a MLBer...Walker bombed, time to see if JJ is the future. Cards are in a unique position to field young players, time to see what we have, and that includes Walker...this is his last season here if he don't prove he can slug above his weight

Some on here are ready to anoint him savior and he hasn't spent a day in the majors. I hope for him and the Cards sake he lives up to the hype, but I'll reserve my opinion until he actually plays a major league game against a major league pitcher.
