Is it time to bring up Lucic?

Post by hockey jedi »

The Blues have no grit and team toughness. Also, we have no answer to the opponent packing in the defense around the goal. We can't seem to get a shot through. All of these little dink passes and soft handoffs are just resulting in offensive and defensive zone turnovers.

That all true but he's so past his effective years that he will make no difference.

Well at least it’d be entertaining then. Right now it’s just sad up here

I like the players but I hate this team. There is no sense of urgency. It's like watching shinny hockey. We are not a tough team. We would be great if we move from the NHL to Sweden, Finland or Switzerland.

Here, here. At least listening to this circus would be somewhat more enjoyable. But then again, we would miss out on educational topics such as garlic, baking, etc.. Tonight's gem, I learned that bear cubs don't really talk to each other, but simply watch their mother to figure out what berries are ok to eat! 8O

He’ll do next to nothing. He’s not able to keep up with the pace of the game anymore at this level.

The Blues need their high paid players to play up to their contracts and they need their bottom six to actually intimidate instead of going out there to do a cardio session.

Hahaha!!
And of course from Kerber finally correcting Joe after saying the wrong thing 3 times, "It's goals AGAINST, not FOR Joe."
And Joe's response, "Oh, anyway..."

If he can put 10-12 shots on net every night, it's time. Otherwise, I don't have any interest in seeing the team goon it up.

Might as well - put together a line of Lucic-Sundqvist-Schenn. Would be fun to see them all circus around the ice, behind on every play and taking several minor penalties. Would probably be more entertaining than what we currently watch.

No, after watching Lucic a bit in the preseason it doesn't appear he has anything else to offer in the NHL. -7 in 5 AHL games seems to confirm that.

He looks slow and out of place with the Thunderbirds. His time is up.

So you are suggesting putting him on a line with Sunny and Schenner then? He will fit right in. :)
