Next stage might be both sides agree to terminate contract.
Re: Texier sent down
Maybe he’ll help the t birds?

Why would Texier do that?MrPostman01 wrote: ↑21 Nov 2025 13:32 pm Next stage might be both sides agree to terminate contract.
He has guaranteed NHL money in minors, then play Olympics and reassess this summer.

There was the report from Elliotte Friedmann that said he was going to ask for his release just before he was put on waivers. Now that he has cleared and he'll probably make the request.blues2112 wrote: ↑21 Nov 2025 17:49 pmWhy would Texier do that?MrPostman01 wrote: ↑21 Nov 2025 13:32 pm Next stage might be both sides agree to terminate contract.

Re: Texier sent down
And so he can go back and start working out with his National team to get ready for the Olympics, and spend holidays with family, and make inquiries with European teams. If he can't break into the regular lineup with this poor NHL team, and he didn't get claimed, then what other NHL Team could he?TheJackBurton wrote: ↑21 Nov 2025 17:50 pmThere was the report from Elliotte Friedmann that said he was going to ask for his release just before he was put on waivers. Rich, or poor, it's nice to have money...but money isn't everything.

Having said that, Texier is 26 and has made $9 million playing hockey, which is $9 million more than I ever did. Dude can "retire" and live the life, which, of course, means posting here.

Re: Texier sent down
Just because he isn't claimed doesn't mean teams don't want him necessarily. They just may not want him at his current salary. A team that may be up against the cap (Meaning only might have a million or so available) may want him but couldn't fit him in, and once he terminates the contract will likely sign for around that much with a team.Old_Goat wrote: ↑21 Nov 2025 18:05 pmAnd so he can go back and start working out with his National team to get ready for the Olympics, and spend holidays with family, and make inquiries with European teams. He may not and focus on the Olympics, but him essentially becoming a UFA opens up more doors for him than being claimed on waivers.

Re: Texier sent down
Yes, good point. I thought they did mention that they would release him? Or did I misread that? Or maybe/hopefully they are working out the proverbial "for future considerations" details.TheJackBurton wrote: ↑21 Nov 2025 18:54 pmJust because he isn't claimed doesn't mean teams don't want him necessarily. And it does sound very familiar.
Re: Texier sent down
Texier is like Alexandrov now in the coaches eye. He will not get another chance no matter how well he does in Springfield.
