Dvorsky

Post by Nublues69 »

Dvorsky is sure looking good out there for a rookie. He was making some good plays it wont be long till he starts putting it together and is turning his good pkays into points.

Kid is playing well. Cant wait foe carboneau next year as well.

I agree. His line with Schenn and Buchnevich looked good most of the game. Just need these boys get some goals. And not just Buch and Schenn, but everyone else on the top lines.

Would be surprised if Carbonneau is on the Blues roster next year with no development time in the AHL. Of course in a full rebuild he might be

We need Dvorsky to be good because Thomas is not good enough to be a 1C on a Cup winner, He does not have what it takes. Thomas is a complementary center. They need a top 3 pick this year so they can have Dvorsky and that player to build around, but the winning streak to end the Blues chances to truly get that player is coming sooner or later

If Devo (along with Suter) can continue his strong play and be a staple as a 2/3C, then this team will take off…..it’s only a matter of time with the offensive talent that’s been underperforming

He’s definitely gaining confidence. He still seems to be very quick to get the puck off his stick though, versus having a little bit more patience to let the play develop. Not a knock, just something I’ve noticed. Maybe he still lacks confidence in his skating and therefore is quick to get it off his stick.

Last night in Philadelphia DD played more and appeared more engaged offensively. His defense and transition play has been pretty good, and he's effective on the PP. While I join in the hope he develops into a good center his productivity at even strength has failed to even register. Right now, other than on the PP, he's producing like a weak 4th line center, where frankly Sunny is a better option.

Of course, his insertion in the lineup isn't about now, it's about the future. Still, young man needs to show a pulse at ES, ASAP.

Seattle you didnt think dvorsky was ready and so far he looks (bleep) good for a rookie and Charbonneau looked better in training camp. is a goal a game player in the Qmjh

ummm i have to disagree. he is making more plays happen with his skills and transition game sunny is a blunt object. Dvorsky's face off percentage alone is better. His skatting is better his passing is better. Cant help he is with schenn and snake bitten buchnievich. Got to disagree that sunny is performing better. sorry man just cant get behind that

I don't disagree on Thomas but he's at worst a strong #2. He just doesn't seem to have that gear to put the team on his back and fight for it. Be nice to have a 1C with the skill and the grit to drive this team to succeed. Thing is not sure Dvo is that guy either. We might have two very good 2Cs but time will tell.

Let's be realistic.

We're a quarter of the way through the season.
Suter is a 40 pt per year scorer, pacing for closer to 50 this year.
Dvorsky is a rookie pacing for 20 goals and no assists, and hopefully finishes around 15 goals and 30 pts.
Robert Thomas is pacing for 65 pts.

If Devo and Suter merely continue, this team will go nowhere. Not unless Thomas returns to his 90 pt pace the past couple of years, Binnington returns to his last year's form, and Buch and Schenn both get back to 20 goal/50 pt pace.

One or two of those things could happen. But all four?

I'm not holding my breath. I think playing C irrevocably broke Buchy, and age has caught up to Schenner.

Sell baby, sell.

I agree with you on Thomas. I've said he would be an excellent 2nd center. I can't see a 1st liner our pipeline. It's crippling.

The lack of a true stud on the backend going forward hurts me more

This is not all on him. Tell me what wingers are scoring for the Blues? More likely defense will score before any of his wingers. He will get there.

He has played with guys who can score, Holloway and Kyrou for example. He's a center, it's his job to make things happen. Zero means . . . Zero.

It’s the veterans on this team that aren’t performing. Dvorsky is looking like he can hang in the nhl and improving game to game. Buch and Schenn just played their best games in a while because Dvorsky was centering them. Hopefully Monty lets that line stay together tomorrow.

Saturday's game will provide our first game comparison of Dvorsky vs Ritchie. Both are C's and were drafted in 2023. Ritchie was drafted by Colorado at #27.
