Current contracts would be grandfathered in and the Pirates are so far below the median payroll they aren't at risk of going over.

Wouldn't be surprised if TGKS has the Pirates' calls blocked.

No doubt, they'd have to beat his best offer by a lot and even then he'd have other offers w/winning teams.

Bloom once traded for TGKS and reports have the Bosox checking in w/him again already.

I'll call it- he's going back to Philadelphia. It's a hitter's park, he's comfortable there, and they will pay him. He has demonstrated that he can hit 56 homers there in a season.

If the moneys comparable, then I'd stay in Philly too.

they should've started spending on Offense last season. They wasted a fullseason's worth of Skenes and Co. I'm glad they're increasing payroll....they're more than prepared to do so.

We're no where near where the Pirates are pitching wise.

Both sides should expect it to be resolved and have
a range of probable outcomes.
Not much reason to let it paralyze decisions. That
could cause much harm as good.

So the PIRATES can think of signing a top FA……but us lowly down and out low payroll after trades poor poor BDW Cards shouldn’t be allowed to have that thought cross their brains……we must wait…..wait…..wait for Bloom Farm to turn out the most prolific batch of Rooks ever seen on a MLB diamond, and then and only then can we think about FA

C'mon, if you're going to use a cheap wine analogy for the Bloom regime, it should be Bloom's Farm.

And yeah, BDW Jr. crying poor is such a hoot. And I guess the justification is that he had to spend a small fortune to upgrade the farm operation he and chief stooge Mozeliak neglected for years.
