Re: CBA issue not halting some teams' offseason
Current contracts would be grandfathered in and the Pirates are so far below the median payroll they aren't at risk of going over.rockondlouie wrote: ↑18 Nov 2025 12:17 pmPirates supposedly spending $40M this offseason and want to make a run at TGKS.82birds wrote: ↑18 Nov 2025 11:20 am good article. interesting stuff on the Pirates.

Wouldn't be surprised if TGKS has the Pirates' calls blocked.rockondlouie wrote: ↑18 Nov 2025 12:17 pmPirates supposedly spending $40M this offseason and want to make a run at TGKS.82birds wrote: ↑18 Nov 2025 11:20 am good article. interesting stuff on the Pirates.

No doubt, they'd have to beat his best offer by a lot and even then he'd have other offers w/winning teams.Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑18 Nov 2025 12:28 pmWouldn't be surprised if TGKS has the Pirates' calls blocked.rockondlouie wrote: ↑18 Nov 2025 12:17 pmPirates supposedly spending $40M this offseason and want to make a run at TGKS.82birds wrote: ↑18 Nov 2025 11:20 am good article. interesting stuff on the Pirates.

I'll call it- he's going back to Philadelphia. It's a hitter's park, he's comfortable there, and they will pay him. He has demonstrated that he can hit 56 homers there in a season.rockondlouie wrote: ↑18 Nov 2025 12:52 pmNo doubt, they'd have to beat his best offer by a lot and even then he'd have other offers w/winning teams.Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑18 Nov 2025 12:28 pmWouldn't be surprised if TGKS has the Pirates' calls blocked.rockondlouie wrote: ↑18 Nov 2025 12:17 pmPirates supposedly spending $40M this offseason and want to make a run at TGKS.82birds wrote: ↑18 Nov 2025 11:20 am good article. interesting stuff on the Pirates.

Re: CBA issue not halting some teams' offseason
they should've started spending on Offense last season. They wasted a fullseason's worth of Skenes and Co. I'm glad they're increasing payroll....they're more than prepared to do so.rockondlouie wrote: ↑18 Nov 2025 12:17 pmPirates supposedly spending $40M this offseason and want to make a run at TGKS.82birds wrote: ↑18 Nov 2025 11:20 am good article. interesting stuff on the Pirates.

We're no where near where the Pirates are pitching wise.

Not much reason to let it paralyze decisions. That
could cause much harm as good.

C'mon, if you're going to use a cheap wine analogy for the Bloom regime, it should be Bloom's Farm.Goldfan wrote: ↑18 Nov 2025 16:39 pmSo the PIRATES can think of signing a top FA……but us lowly down and out low payroll after trades poor poor BDW Cards shouldn’t be allowed to have that thought cross their brains……we must wait…..wait…..wait for Bloom Farm to turn out the most prolific batch of Rooks ever seen on a MLB diamond, and then and only then can we think about FArockondlouie wrote: ↑18 Nov 2025 12:17 pmPirates supposedly spending $40M this offseason and want to make a run at TGKS.82birds wrote: ↑18 Nov 2025 11:20 am good article. interesting stuff on the Pirates.

And yeah, BDW Jr. crying poor is such a hoot. And I guess the justification is that he had to spend a small fortune to upgrade the farm operation he and chief stooge Mozeliak neglected for years.
