What are the ideal spots in the batting order for these four?

Against RHP and LHP. Herrera, Burleson, Winn and Scott. Many feel the Cardinals need an addition/additions in the MOTO that would, likely, affect this. Add Contreras to the equation if he's still with the club.

Wouldn’t one need to know what the opening day roster ultimately looks like in order to have an informed opinion on the “topic”?

I agree. Just throwing it out there. How about if all five are still around and they pick up a viable MOTO bat? Possibly, at #3. I'll add, if Donovan is traded. Nootbaar will likely still be around until, at least, mid season. So it's all five mentioned, no Donovan and Nootbaar still in the lineup, maybe. I'm guessing, Wetherholt will lead off. Whatcha' got?

The ideal spots are whatever the iPad tells him on any given day

That's the way I see it, ideally. And with Wetherholt leading off. That leaves 2, 3 and 4 as huge question marks.

Current roster, Herrera is anywhere 3-5.
Winn is 2, 6, or 7.
Burleson is anywhere 3-6.
Scott is 9.

that's pretty good, JA.

Though, with current roster, you assume Donovan is 1st, and then Herrera would offset the LHB by batting 2nd. If Donovan is traded, then JJ leads off, and Herrera still bats 2nd

If Donovan is traded for either a TOR starting pitcher or a MOTO bat. It seems, DeWitt is still going to have to spend some money to get one or the other.

Are you saying that you think Donnie will garner us either a TOR or a MOTO? Just asking.
