Hypothetical - if we could trade for draft picks
Would you trade Contreras for a 2nd round pick and the other team picks up all of his contract?

No
WillyC has enough value and a relatively reasonable contract to bring back a #3 major league starting pitcher w/years of control.
No way I want a draft pick for him and I have doubts BDWJr would allow C. Bloom to re-invest the contract savings.

Gavin Lux garnered a low 30's Comp pick from the Reds last year...the pick was immediately after the 1st round and the Royals' MVP vote award tally for Bobby Witt, JR.
Contreras would be worth more, imo. The above isn't a comp for Contreras but it gives everyone an Idea as to what players are worth when a draft pick (Competitive Balance) can be traded.
