Seattle
Watched a lot of their games last year and follow them. Various of their media are reporting that St. Louis is the team they are focusing on. They love Donovan and have tried to get him for several years. Also interested in Burlerson for first base if Naylor moves on. Even if they keep Polonco they see Donovan at third base and second base.
They have lots of prospects and are willing to deal them. Pierpoint comes from the Seattle system so should know their system well. Word is they would be willing to deal Cijntje, the switch pitching pitcher drafted as the 15th pick in 2024. Don’t think they will deal Anderson or Sloan.
They have couple of longer term high upside position prospects such as Bautista and Peete that also would be interesting to acquire

They have Cole Young for the infield. Gabriel Gonzalez for corner OFer. Moved a stud CFer to the Jays.

Re: Seattle
Any trade of Burleson and Donovan likely has to return a ready for rotation arm with strikeout stuff. Cardinals rotation paper thin when Gray is gone as expected.kyace wrote: ↑12 Nov 2025 20:23 pm Watched a lot of their games last year and follow them. Re: Seattle
Seattle has really good prospects and lots of them. They only seem to want to talk about the outer fringes. If they want to receive talented, bona fide major league players, it's going to hurt. We'll see if they are up for that. They should be motivated for that.
Re: Seattle
Ryan Sloan and call it a day.
Re: Seattle
probably the 2nd best Minor League system...I only give Detroit the nod over them, because their hitters just kept on hitting last year in the minors...after every promotion, too. Best program I followed I saw last year.Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑12 Nov 2025 21:00 pm Seattle has really good prospects and lots of them. They only seem to want to talk about the outer fringes. Don’t they have a pretty good catcher out there?

Yeah. I am on record for wanting Josue Briceno as my #1 hitting target. That's where I want to see Donovan traded.craviduce wrote: ↑12 Nov 2025 21:03 pmprobably the 2nd best Minor League system...I only give Detroit the nod over them, because their hitters just kept on hitting last year in the minors...after every promotion, too. Re: Seattle
they have 2... Ford and Stevenson....Ford will likely be a better hitter, but Stevenson will hold his own at the plate. He has a good head on his shoulders....rocket arm behind the plate, too...saw him play a few times the last 2 seasons with UNC...came away impressed...had him in my Top 10 preseason heading into 2025. He slipped at the plate in 2025, power fastballs weren't his forte...I think he'll overcome that.

Re: Seattle
The Cardinals actually have several players who would be very useful to Seattle. Donovan, Burleson, Contreras, Arenado, Romero, and maybe even Gorman would have interest for them. I can see why the earlier post mentioned chatter in Seattle about the Cards. Will be interesting to see if anything gets done with them.
Re: Seattle
he's a good one...1B...not sure on the catcher part....that W. Michigan team was incredible in the MWL last year...then they promoted the Trio to AA (Erie?) and they kept on hitting. Detroit is stocked, and then some...2 years behind those guys they have Yost, Rainer and the other Witherspoon brother...Malachi?Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑12 Nov 2025 21:07 pmYeah. Briceno should catch as often as Herrera does.craviduce wrote: ↑12 Nov 2025 21:18 pmhe's a good one...1B...not sure on the catcher part....that W. Re: Seattle
I watched Clintje a lot this season vs. Springfield...I get the novelty of the switch pitching, but the Cards AA (which wasn't known for its hitting depth) didn't have too much trouble facing him. I don't know, it makes me mute my excitement about possibly landing him. Same feeling about Gage Jump from Midland (Athletics), he had a great 1st year as a pro...but Springfield destroyed him both times they faced him.Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑12 Nov 2025 21:17 pm The Cardinals actually have several players who would be very useful to Seattle.
