Turtle. Turtle.
Congrats to coach.
I've been against going full turtle since ive known of the strategy. And a turtle before the third, I'd call crazy before Monty opened door one with that donkey sitting on hay. But last night. it has worked. It finally worked.
Who needs Kyrou going to the net when we got Sunny Schenn and Buch holding back the onslaught of the leagues Calgaries while we play defense for a half an hour of game time.
Again congrats. Now if we can just move that 30-40 goal guy for another turtle walker, that can get the puck in deep, do some board battle and play third, fourth and fifth defender.

Personally, I love a turtle concrete. Pecans and hot fudge and caramel. Great strategy if ya ask me.

I thought this was going to be about Domi going after Zadorov.
Re: Turtle. Turtle.
We've turtled to start the third in every game we've been leading after the second. since last year.
And I'd bet we are at best 2-15 in those games.
It's a [shirt] strategy, from a [shirt] coach, for the [shirt], but loyal players. Whos best game is slowing down other teams talent.

Re: Turtle. Turtle.
Unsurprisingly you're incorrect. The Blues have a negative goal differential in every period vs opponent
1st Period:
15 (Blues)
17
16...
27....
16...
18...
The 3rd period the Blues have scored almost a goal per game but of course, outscored as well

Re: Turtle. Turtle.
My opinion is it has nothing to do with strategy. The main guys are playing like they have their butt cheeks squeezed too tight. They are scared [censoered] that they are going to blow it and, as a result, they probably will.
I imagine after the two quick goals, the vibe on the bench changed to "here we go again" and it can be real tough to shake that.
Successfully closing it out, even though the skaters didn't do a whole lot to help, can hopefully have the effect of letting them relax a little bit. Might take a couple consecutive successful efforts for it to pay off, though.

Re: Turtle. Turtle.
I dont have a problem with Monty going with the guys that he can count on to make the right plays in the 3rd esp after the 10 min mark. Dvorsky is pretty green just get the points now thats all that matterssdaltons wrote: ↑12 Nov 2025 09:02 am My opinion is it has nothing to do with strategy. Re: Turtle. Turtle.
former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley died recently. the cause of death was him falling down, hitting his head, and having a severe brain bleed. i think that had to have felt better than my brain does while trying to read posts by the OP.

It’s desperate, win now hockey in November which is not sustainable for 6+ months as the vets will wear down before second season starts.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑12 Nov 2025 09:06 amI dont have a problem with Monty going with the guys that he can count on to make the right plays in the 3rd esp after the 10 min mark. Better off letting the young guys get valuable experience rn growing pains and all.
Re: Turtle. Turtle.
I do. Deciding to play defense for over 20 mins. Just to hold on to a lead is just stupid. Doesn't work and becomes a big locker room problem.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑12 Nov 2025 09:06 amI dont have a problem with Monty going with the guys that he can count on to make the right plays in the 3rd esp after the 10 min mark. When you stress defense so much that you'd bench your best players for not going to the corner you not only isolate those players. But you teach a lesson to others who might also have real offensive instinct, to slow it down.
When every team problem and every team lose is put onto the skill guys for a board battle lose or a end of shift drag. You know you're playing Army/Hitch hockey. Where the only goal is to play a playoff game.

I did not hear “cementhead,” just “concrete.”BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑12 Nov 2025 07:42 am I thought this was going to be about Domi going after Zadorov.
