Being benched doesn't surprise me. The lack of compete after all the strides he made these past 2 years, that surprises me.

It's like after last season, these guys thought all their forward depth would provide so many goals with their goalies bailing them out that they wouldn't have to expend so much effort.

Such an enigmatic player with Kyrou. I always keep in mind this kid was a 2nd round pick but he has all world tools. To achieve his value Kyrou needs to check all over the ice with speed and intensity, bring what you were born with to the table. I dont need Kyrou to body check anyone but he should be forcing turnovers with his gifts and then use those TOs to create offense. it isnt happening, there is not consistent intensity he floats around he makes poor puck decisions he doesnt get shots on.
this benching is what could lead to a trade, i have no doubt Kyrou would waive his clause to go to another market, LA, NY, Florida, etc

After starting the season out well he’s been floating big time right around the start of that 7 game losing streak.

That failed clearly attempt after he was only 1 of 2 players that jumped on while the other 3 have been on the ice for over 2MIN should have got him bench for a period last night.

Berube’s run here had ended. Unfortunate, but that happens with most coaches. This time, Monty wins the battle and Kyrou will be gone……if it comes to that.

For years I said that Doug Armstrong was exceptionally overrated at hockey assessment for trusting the character of this player to be the foundation for anything. I had some miserable battles with fellow fans. Then Kyrou started coming around. I acknowledged it and adapted to it, I literally placed money on Kyrou to reach 63 points this year, maybe he will. But he is a trick.

I can't begin to express how disgusted I was with his effort last night, which was pathetic and the game turned on it when he failed to clear the zone in that incredible long shift when he had the chance. I know that in that moment Montgomery had to hate this player, and was correct.

What this player is, is the player born to be defeated by the other person who chooses to aim higher for himself. That's it. He is a born L.

I apologize to Harry for defending this guy. I can't wait to see the Kyrou Era end. I posted about trading him before his NTC a lot because I did deeply worry he couldn't be trusted. I wish the Blackhawks had nothing but Kyrous, that's the biggest indictment.

Just as a side these hockey personnel decisions are made as a group, Army cannot himself strong arm decisions by the management group, just saying

He was awesome for two seasons, then ok, and now I loathe the sight of him on the ice

For me other main parts of this current issues are:

Bad mix of top 9 forwards, esp without Neighbours and Holloway being a shell of what he was last year, aging Schenn = too soft
Relying now on young, inexperienced players in key roles
Odd bottom 3 defenders
Bad goaltending

all of those things are issues and at the same time is why they are -5 a mere 15 games into the season (wins minus regulation losses, an excellent proxy at any given moment for how they're truly doing relative to the league)

He wants out of STL … STL want him out

What a complete mess. Very much like Tarasenko
