Are the Blues players trying to get Monty fired?

Post by Konstantinov »

Heard of this happening often, locker rooms banding together and dogging it to get the coach fired.

If you compare this roster to 2019, the difference is like night and day. However, the only roster change made recently was Bolduc, and it’s hard to see how that alone could disrupt the team.

As for leadership, Monty’s position appears secure for now. If anyone’s seat might be warming up, it could be Armstrong’s. Stillman can’t afford to take chances — with the league getting stronger every year, missing the playoffs isn’t an option.

Statistically, it is highly highly likely they are missing the playoffs

I will give them until the mandatory Thanksgiving date and make a determination then but it sure looks like it. Even better will be a late run after the Olympics to go from a top 5 pick to picking 12-15.

If anything it'll get Army fired if he can't offload a huge chunk of vets by the deadline

Monty isn't going anywhere, even if he hasn't had the team prepared the way he should.

The expectations generated following last spring are killing him. Maybe this team is just reverting back to its mean?

It's high time we start moving dead weight players and not coaches.

I actually don’t think that’ll happen this year since there won’t be a coaching change. If/when we are clearly out of the race we could ride this thing all the way to the bottom.

Monty isn't going anywhere.
Armstrong isn't going anywhere.

If anything, a bigger named player may be on their way out.

Agreed but I’ll believe it when I see it. Too much clout with the FO.

One player is responsible for this? You really believe this. OK 🤷‍♂️

May mean in terms of shocking the team into reality I would think.

Agree that Monty isn’t going anywhere. And it makes no sense for Army to go now. He’s done being the GM after this year anyway. Steener is going to need him around.

I don’t think one player is responsible for this but I do think a big trade could rattle enough cages to make a difference. The problem is no teams are really in buy or sell or mode right now (outside of Calgary and STL perhaps) so who the heck are we going to trade with?
