How much will Phil Maton and Luke Weaver cost us?

Post by Janssen »

I would not mind having PM back and Luke as well if it does not kill our already diminishing payroll

Maton open to.

Weaver was awful this year. Let someone with excess discretionary income take on that risk.

yes...we're going to spend $$$ on relievers...the easiest position on a roster to replace   We're going inhouse for relievers.

come on, people...why do you expect to contend next year?

I don't see those two being a priority given BDWJr is going to give C. Bloom limited funds to work w/in 2026.

I'd rather spend whatever money Dewitt offers on an OF upgrade and a starting pitcher.

They won't be "stars" but hopefully Bloom can unearth a solid player or two for the minimal funds Dewitt gives him.

I wouldn’t say LW was awful.

The catch 22 is you maybe be able to get LW for less and only one year. If he bounces back, you flip him.

Spotrac posts an estimated market value for Maton at 7.1M and Weaver at 9.9M.

That increases the value of Jo Jo
To answer the threads question then it wouldn't cost
a thing, it increases what the Cardinals have.
