CBJ is on a heater and the Blues are on a winless streak. Let’s hope this is a trap game for CBJ. They score a lot so the Blues will need good goaltending and D tonight.

I like Dvorsky getting two speedy wingers to work with. He is defensively responsible you will see him as the third man defending often. But he's skilled enough to turn that into offense quickly through good positioning and having speedy wingers will help.

I'm giving them an hour to show me what they got before switching to Game 7.

Hofer started all this, he needs to do his part to stop it. But that's not the whole story . . .

The Blues veteran forwards for the most part have been playing garbage hockey. Put your finger over the Neighbours goals and the Blues are pathetic offensively. Start with Schenn, he's been near-waiver wire lousy. Buchnevich plays hard but can't score. Holloway plays hard but can't score. Kyrou right now is the best of the bunch. Suter is ok given his role. Sunny missed games. The rest are MIA. Forwards get paid to score, these guys have checked out on half the game.

Then there's the defensive half of the game. I can't shake that vision of Walker leaving his man alone in the slot. Inexcusable. Mind-boggling. Stupid. Emblematic of the whole shirt-show.

So, it starts in goal, but just as important that top line needs to play hockey not hooky.

No problem going back to Hofer. He has to play through it.

At this point Dawg I'm really only watching to see Snuggs, Mailloux and Dvorsky develop it's the only interesting thing about this team. It hurts to play hard in the NHL this core won't do it till they realize they are facing elimination

Schenn plays Blues hockey and he contributes in other ways when not scoring.

Buchnevich is paid more, doesn't play Blues hockey and contributes nothing when not scoring.

Why Hofer? Are they limiting Binnington so he can be fresh for the olympics?

OK. Schenn right now is the #1 center. That isn't good enough, he has to make that line work offensively or he's a fish out of water.

Man, I can’t believe Hofer is getting the start. I guess Monty is letting him fight through it, but he has looked horrible. Like someone has been drugging him bad. Maybe he’s trying to get the rest of the team to be more defensive responsible? It’s a head scratcher for sure.

I share your frustration but these are professionals under contract, have to play them (or move them). I don't believe Hofer is really as bad as he's played, I think it's mental and he'll snap out of it. Sometime.
