7 points: welcome to last place in the central

Post by UseLogic »

... and, third to last place in the league (CGY has 5 points; SJS 6).

Early player surprises for me:
- Spencer Knight in CHI looks legit. Wow. I was surprised at the contract when published, but no longer am.
- Jack Eichel is trending [almost] 2 points per game? Good grief.
- Celebrini at 15 points with a +/- 0. He ended last season at -31. Early still, but looking to have a nice sophmore year.

Early team surprises for me:
- Utah is tearing things up. the preseason prognostications about them being a contender has some legs now.
- Tampa is performing well below my expectations. Anyone agree/disagree?
- My man Berube in Toronto... slower start that I expected.
- EDM also is off to a staggered start. They still have a really good group. Goaltending looks to be the Achille's Heel again.
- MIN, aside from the STL game, only has 1 regulation win. Quite peculiar.

We just completed a re-whatever, so at least the Blues have some elite young talent in the pipeline.

Oh wait. The thunderbirds are doing worse than the Blues.

Oh well. At least some know that Army drafts well. They can fall to sleep in that easy chair.

Yes, I'll be shocked if this type of stank continues. This team just seems uninspired currently. I will wait till a 20 game sample size minimum to pass judgement. I mean the game against Detroit is inexcusable but if they learn a lesson from it it barely matters.

It all depends upon the duration of Thomas' injury.

The next two games are very important imo - back to back against Pitt and Det who are currently playing solid hockey.

They are not uninspired and if they were they certainly wouldn't be more inspired in 20 games.

It's too small of a sample size. I'm not saying it will definitely change but they have to show more compete. This team can't be this bad.

It will change probably more than a few times over 82 games but it won't be because they show more compete or try harder or care more. More about confidence, control, mindset etc.

I agree with that, maybe I'm using the wrong termonology.

Hope this helps...

I guarantee that the Blues will rally in the last 2 months of the season. You heard it here first.

It's Army's killing season. The Blues hard check every head moving in a golf cart, and they win, win, win.

This team did it last year, and they will do it again this year.

And for the cherry on top, we can watch the Blues move from #8 to around #15 in the draft. This #15 will get us the next Dvorsky or Jiricek. Army loves acquiring raffle ticket players and turning them into 3rd-liners.

Doubt the goaltending is this bad at the 20 game mark. Pump the brakes on the panic truck already

I'm just the lowly messenger. You could lose me, but then who would give you far advance notice of the team's play?
