You witnessed a killer instinct when you have killers like Buch and Kyrou on your team as key cogs.

Re: What did I just witness?
Can't be good for confidence and morale the rest of the season.
Re: What did I just witness?
You witnessed a very mediocre team get beat by another very mediocre team.

It starts with cluster and ends with Firetruck! If this continues how long a leash does Monty have?

Its leadership and want to.
Its set by example and we have poor examples.

Re: What did I just witness?
Schenn was -4 and deflected one into his own goal. Nothing is going to change with this team while they still consider him a 2C. My biggest fear last year was that roll 25 and 81 went on last year would dupe the FO into thinking Schenn was still viable in that role. He isn’t. He is a 3rd LW and probably very effective in that rile. However as a 2C, he hurts this team.11WSChamps wrote: ↑25 Oct 2025 21:59 pmIt wasn't Berube and its not Montgomery.1983cougar wrote: ↑25 Oct 2025 21:49 pm It starts with cluster and ends with Firetruck! Re: What did I just witness?
A team devoid of leadership and coaching...the rot within this team is worse than the Cards and marmol. I'd fire Army just for the symbolic nature of proving no one is above the cesspool that is Blues hockey, and the fact he deserves it.

Re: What did I just witness?
I'm signing off and watching Halloween movies...I can't take it anymore, I have Blues fatigue.
Re: What did I just witness?
That was a monumental breakdown.
This D is a disaster.
The goaltending is abysmal.
This team could be in trouble.

Re: What did I just witness?
I never would've dreamed goatending to be a major issue this year.
Re: What did I just witness?
What you saw after the Detroit coach called that timeout in the second period was pathetic and embarrassing.
Hopefully it won't take 3 months again for the Boys to start playing 60 minutes a night and for each other. But until they do, expect more of the same with inconsistency being the norm.
Plus/minus doesn't tell the whole story but it's pretty damning: Schenn is -10, Mailloux is -9 (in very limited action), Holloway is -8, Kyrou is -6, Fowler is -5, and the rest are actually fairly respectable. But no one is more than +2.
I don't think Holloway and Broberg are playing anywhere near the level they were last year.
Mailloux needs to be playing regularly, in Springfield.
Also, Monty is generally only playing the 3rd pair of Dmen around 10 minutes a game, or less, which is not sustainable over the season but is most telling, unfortunately.

Re: What did I just witness?
What a rough start to the season. I expect this will turn around soon but wow, this is brutal.
Re: What did I just witness?
100% his time as a C was supposed to be temporary. The game is too fast for him to defend as a C for 20 minutes. At least lower him to the 3rd line and get him off the PP. Sadly Monty/Army always give playing time to the veterans who make all of the money despite how they are playing.2forDiving wrote: ↑25 Oct 2025 22:13 pmSchenn was -4 and deflected one into his own goal.
