The head coach has made changes to all four forward lines in an effort to spark his team. As the squad continues to build its game, Montgomery hopes these changes will lead to more balance.

"I think our biggest challenge is creating our identity of being a checking team," Montgomery said. "That's going to be our focus is to be a really good checking team, and that starts in the offensive zone."

The Blues went 1-2-1 on their four-game homestand and were outscored by opponents 18-11. As they head back on the road, where they're 2-0 this season, Montgomery wants to instill a hard-working spirit up and down the lineup.

"I just don't think the consistency with how we're working each line has been there," Montgomery said. "So we're trying to get at least one to two workers, that that's their calling card, to be on every line."

I still don't concider lines 1 thru 4 as being best to least talented. Our boys haven't done enough for themselves yet for that to be the case. Besides that , the NHL doesn't give you the pleasure of havingt some plaers being "that" much better than the guys on the forth line. In other words, ya'll better play like you should be in the NHL, instead of wasting the forth line on players you believe should be demoted.

There's some of our kids who are very interested in playing in the NHL and nowdays those kids are being put to the test without that old worry about messing them up. We, and other teams, have some kids who are very good players. See how they play when they're teamed up with regular NHL'ers. Apart from that maybe other teams have players better suited for our team and visa-versa. Just my wild, crazy, Im not a coach opinion.
