Trade For Los Angeles Kings Adrian Kempe?

Post by stanw »

Taking it at face value since it was on Hockey Buzz, would you trade Kyrou for Kempe ?

Kyrou’s value is low thanks in part to the Blues

Only if you knew you could get Kempe on a comfortable extension. He’s a UFA at year’s end so you’d potentially be dumping Kyrou for nothing.

Yes, I think I would do that if it was a sign-and-trade or one of those situations that you knew you would sign him. And I'm a Kyrou fan.

Interesting considering that Carbonneau said (I believe during that new interview format) at the draft that he models his game after Kempe.

How about Buch for Kempe?

I’m a big Kyrou fan. His game has improved leaps and bounds the last couple of years. That said, no way LA makes this deal straight up. Kempe brings way more to the table than Kyrou.

As stated above regarding Kyrou or Buch, it is an interesting thought exercise but that is all it is. They both have NTCs. It ain't gonna happen.

"Hey, wanna go live in SoCal for the next half decade or so?"

Or maybe we could acquire Kopitar?

Offer Mails and use Prongers rant as leverage?

Why would you lob that softball up for a Kyrou hater?

Kempe was a first-round pick in 2014 (29th overall). His expiring contract is a 4-year, US $22 million deal. All indications are he's looking for a 3 to $4 million raise putting him somewhere in the 8 to 9 per year category.
So if you could do a sign /trade for either Kyrou of Buchnevich you make that deal. This locker room needs a change, these two are part of the core/coach killers on this roster. The trade of Bolduc was really the only roster trade of anyone who you could call a core piece, with lat year being his first real year.
The money is about the same for the three players, also the skill set, Kempe would just bring a different energy to the team. As for the Blues players who would say no to making millions of dollars and living in L.A.

The same dollars go much further in STL than LA, and MO should abolish state income taxes within the lifetime of these deals, adding to the buying power discrepancy. IJS.

Lolz, Bernie Federko called Alex Steen a "Coach killer".
