Anytime we had pressure, Kyrou (bleep) it up

I love Army but he really made a mistake not dealing this clown before his NTC kicked in

Did anyone want him? I don’t think it was a secret he was being shopped.

He was absolutely trash tonight. He didn’t want to get hit. And it was obvious. And I’ve stuck up for him so far this season, but tonight was him reverting back to being a coward.

I only got to watch the highlights tonight, so so far couldn't check in on the play. But Kyrou has a huge knock on him. This isn't an excuse, but those goals Hofer gave up early were cheese whiz. And Kyrou's nature seems to be to just call it a day in those situations. He's very much a feast or famine player. I can definitely see him cashing it in when it looks like the ball was rolling the wrong direction.

Kyrou and Buch both are play killers. They kill the momentum with bad passes constantly.

that dumb pass in the 1st period cause an offside was so typical Kyrou, I wish he just take his speed and go balls to the walls to the goalie.

Why he is tasked with bringing the puck into the O-Zone is beyond me. He is so weak on the puck.

You ain't kidding. His speed and his freakish ability to make plays at that crazy high speed are true superpowers.
Why he chooses to play like Clark Kent is baffling.

Yeah, he's terrible, boring, weak, lucky to score 104 goals past three season. And that silly fastest skater competition? Meh

He has the tools to have scored 180 goals the last three years.

It bothers some of us to see him waste his gifts.

It's no secret, he might have 1 decent game out of 10 and then everyone says "Oh, what a world class play by Kyrou" and everyone in the PTS predicts him as the star of the game for about a week. He's a soft scrub and not worth 8 million per season.

Buchnevich sucks too...and I'm beginning to dislike Thomas as well.

That's an average of 60. During that time, the 60-goal mark has been met precisely three times by three different players.

Here are some comps for Kyrou (goals over past three seasons):
Kyrou 104, 8.1 cap hit
Kaprizov, 111, 9 cap hit, soon to be 17
MacKinnon 126, 12.6 cap hit
Rantanen, 129, 12 cap hit
Connor, 106, 7.1 cap hit (only one lower)
Forsberg, 98, 8.5 cap hit

Even better, Kyrou is younger than all of them.

Is he perfect? Of course not. Every player has flaws, and I'm sure fans of each of those players get frustrated at times.

Personally I thought he played better than most of the Blues on the ice.

I just think he needs to be at the end of the line in the zone on 6 on 5, with the instructions to maybe move no more than a foot or two and get it through towards the 3-4 foot radius in front of the crease so that we can muck in some goals or if they somehow blow coverage on him he can just outright try to snipe it in. late in the 3rd down one with 2 minutes to go, we should not be trying to dance around looking for an optimal shot. There's no greater evidence of this than the detroit game last last year. if you pass it around you might get it to him with some opening, but more importantly if he throws it towards the net it might take a good bounce or get some puck luck.

I actually don't hate kyrou's deal as much now as i did this time last season, because he has started to increase his lines scoring potential by backchecking more effectively and pressing in the zone using his speed. outside of the end of the game last night, probably top 4 or 5 on forwards performances as well.

My opinion is that we need to get back to basics, throw pucks down low, have a guy on each line parked there willing to fight for the puck. get neighbours on the top line again, get holloway on the 2nd line (or schenn and have someone else play 1st forward back other than the center), get joseph on the 3rd line and take your pick on the 4th line they do it effectively already. start playing meat and potato style and get some lucky bounces. Make other teams worry about the pucks getting into the blue paint or right around the crease, back them off your skill players and defensemen at the point, and THEN use your skill once that threat exists to take advantage of the space created once that threat down low is established. Right now our skill guys are passing it mostly around the perimeter and mostly forcing a specific play on the powerplay, if we start throwing an alternative in there you can back some guys off.

I know that we pay the top line to play their way and win, but when it doesn't work sometimes you have to change things up to offer the threat.

You’re one of the only ones to have it figured out. Stupid thread. He’s been arguably been the best player on the ice night in night out. Heaven forbid the great RT gets criticized.

Who would you rather have (either of you two)?
