Buffalo

Another terrible start to the season. They played OK against the Avalanche yesterday but they just couldn’t up.

What changes will be made before the season is over? I heard on the NHL Network yesterday that both Dahlin and TT have said they want to see improvement this year or they’re going to be looking for a new place to play. Can’t imagine Buffalo would really want to trade either (regardless of return) but I can very much imagine a world where TT and Dahlin twist the arm of Adams and demand trades.

Just feel so bad for the Sabres fans. Talk about a fanbase that has earned the right to watch some winning hockey.

Oh I’m not saying the season is over yet by any stretch. They have the talent to at least be a team on the cusp but, going off of history, that may be asking too much. I was sort of just projecting into their future…

Going back to the well with Lindy was a mistake and that group. You would think he is on a really short leash. They have embedded a losing culture where one bad loss multiplies. He isnt the fuy imo to motivate these guys. Hard to believe the talent tbey have allowed out tbe door to then win cups. Norris and upl being out eaely is a killer too.

I would love to see Buffalo do well and eventually win a Cup. We had a long wait for the Blues to win, but at least we had a lot of good teams over the years. I feel their pain and they have suffered thru some really bad years along the way. For the same reason, I’d like to see the Bills win a Super Bowl.

I wonder if Army still has interest in Byram. Just a matter of time before a few guys ask out. Hard to believe they can’t figure it out because they have had the talent.

Buffalo is 7 steps ahead of the rest of the league. They know that losing doesn't guarantee winning the lottery, so they are going to keep doing it year over year to eventually win. 2018 and 2021 weren't enough for those Buffalo fans. They want the 3 peat. They want to be the dynasty of the draft teams. That's the real prize. 7 steps ahead.

That’s kind of what I was thinking. How could they not be good with all those TOP picks year after year???

IDK... we just got back to a big defense. And while Byrum is listed at 6'1" he really isn't known to be a physical guy. Add to that the concussion history, and I think the Blues have moved on and are happy with where they are.

I'd have to imagine Lindy Ruff is on a really short leash.

Constantly changing coaches is a recipe for disaster but I believe Ruffs time coaching in the league is over.

Quite frankly, as much as we all despise him, if I'm Buffalo I'm finding out if Pete Deboer is interested. If nothing else he is a winning coach and has handled plenty of young teams.

He has a shelf life, but if you can get a few playoff runs out of him it is definitely worth it.

A few? I think at this point they’d settle for one!

Right up there with the Bermuda Triangle, Stonehendge and the disappearance of the Mary Celeste, this ranks up there as one of the great mysteries of the world.

It’s becoming a problem. Well, check that. It’s been a problem for a while now. I read over the summer the league was concerned about it too. Having a franchise that dysfunctional just isn’t good for business.

Adams isn’t cutting it and I don’t know why they went back to Ruff. He was a good coach back in the day but the game has passed him by.

This is Exhibit A of how to screw up a tank and instill a losing culture. A tank can lead to good players but eventually you need to turn the tide or those good players will want to go elsewhere. ROR, Eichel, Reinhart and Peterka have now all forced their way out of Buffalo. Could Dahlin and/or Thompson be next? Absolutely.
