Walker working out at Driveline

Post by billybaseball »

I know people want to roll your eyes when these pop up but this is very notable. People should not discount Driveline. The Dodgers and Red Sox both use them as their offseason training. The Dodgers especially use them almost exclusively for their teams offseason training. Ohtani, Betts and Muncy go every offseason.

His rotation looks so much more fluid in this video than how I've ever seen him swing. Bat stays in the zone longer and deeper. Let's him get under the ball more.

This is good. Glad to see him working so early in the offseason. He needs to be ready to go in the spring. He can't afford to wait around until a few weeks before.

Don't trade him. No reason to. Still has a ton of potential going into his age 24 season and his trade value is at an all-time low.

Hopefully it can teach him not to swing at bad pitches and not to just take good pitches down the middle. I’m skeptical but at least he’s doing something that may help

Totally agree! His value to keep is much more value than what the Cards would get in a return. With that said, I think 2026 is certainly a pivotal season for him with the STL Cardinals.

Those issues were mental. I hope he's working on the mental side of baseball this offseason too

Really nothing to roll your eyes at here. Not even the End of the league divisional rounds and he’s already at it. And anything that freak of nature Ohtani uses is something I do not need to look in to the credibility of.

Glad he’s working hard, however that’s never really been in question with him. It’s if he can get it to translate on the field. Makes me wonder if it’s more mental battle with him. There’s a Grand Canyon sized difference between that swing in the video and in a game

IF Driveline can get Mr Walker on track hitting wise. Bloom needs to insure that it follows him to ST and regular season. DO NOT let Marmot or his followers screw it up.

Agree that’s what I was getting at all the swing changes in the world doesn’t help if he still chases bad pitches and takes good pitches

Which consultant works on that part and how good are they? It’s certainly not Oli.

Good for JW. Anybody working hard and using state of the art to get better gets some respect.

When does Gorman show up at Driveline? Arenado?

Pallante is in need of help to rediscover what effectiveness he had. Or maybe he has a dead arm or is hurt.
