There's no player in the NHL that I dumped on more than Justin Faulk last year. Many, MANY, seemed to believe the heat he garnered from myself and others was due to some personal dislike. Nothing could be further from the truth. He was simply that bad.
So feel free to ignore or reply to this thread if you like. This could be a discussion or simply a way to remind myself that I do, in fact, want Faulk and the team to exceed our wildest expectations and I hope he proves he can still be a great player in the NHL.
I hope Faulk proves me and the rest of his detractors wrong with a great season

He helped Broberg a lot imo.
Faulk is what he is. An undersized dman which hurts his defensive game, but he’s a vet and can play in all situations.

Poor decisions and T-Rex arms are a bad combo.

Blues definitely need him to be better than last year.
I, too, was ragging on him last year.
IMO he earned that.

I think Faulks game will improve as the D core around him improves as a unit. I think he's been asked to handle just a lil more than he could chew.

Here's to a better year....I'll agree with that....for me he needs to be better upstairs more than any thing.

Guy plays 22 minutes a night with some grit, all situations, 30-plus points, right-handed, 6.5 million cap hit. Wearing the A means something as well.
That's a bargain.
I also understand that if you don't like him, you'll never fairly acknowledge the positives he brings.

It's ironic that you mention the positives he brings, because he was the Blues minus leader last season, especially in close and late situations, when it matters the most. And once again, I don't understand why Faulk apologists always talk about "liking" him. I don't know him. I don't like or dislike him, same as every other Blue. It's about being an asset or detriment to the team.blues2112 wrote: ↑08 Oct 2025 18:38 pm Guy plays 22 minutes a night with some grit, all situations, 30-plus points, right-handed, 6.5 million cap hit. You can be serviceable 95% of the time, but if you're downright awful and a detriment to the team during that other 5%, it doesn't balance out for most people.

Faulk has been a problem late in our games, and especially when the opposing goalie is pulled. Buchnevich also (bleep) his pants in those fateful last 90 seconds in Winnipeg.
Let’s hope Monty & staff coach them up in this regard.
