What is it moving forward? Sunny posted on the opening night roster, but Milan not shown as released.

Sunny could be moved to IR before Thrs game if necessary, nothing on Lucic. IF Sunny cant go Lucic could sign a contract or another player called up and Lucic's PTO extended. No details yet

Until it’s announced he’s released or signed then I’d just assume he’s still on a PTO.

They had no obligation to make that decision today so why do so?

Gotcha. Was not sure of the PTO rules relative to setting the ON roster.

DA is supposed to make an announcement or speak tomorrow 10 am. Rutherford hoping to get more clarification then.

There is obviously something going on with Lucic being in the organization. It would be too easy to just have cut him and said thank you. We all wonder what is going on behind the scenes

Well it’s not some grand conspiracy. The “something” would be that the Blues want a player that brings what Lucic brings. But he also clearly hasn’t shown enough yet to earn a contract. So they’re giving him more time as they seem to really want that sort of player.

Is he really in the organization though? Blues signed him to a PTO. The only decision from there is to either sign him or not sign him to an NHL contract, no?

Maybe its a little more nuanced than that but seems pretty straightforward to me. Once Krug is placed on LTIR, Blues will have around 5M-6M in cap space.

Except that we are at our contract limit. You can only keep 23 players and we already have 23 before signing Lucic. If we sign him, someone else has to go.

No one thinks it’s a “grand conspiracy” but that they are trying to make room for him by moving another contract or trying to convince him to go to Springfield and work on his game. They obviously want what they think Lucic brings to the table. Maybe they are trying to move a Texier contract. Maybe Lucic isn’t totally convinced about going to Springfield. We will know soon enough.

If Sunny is out to start the year, Lucic can be signed without having to make another move.

The Blues just announced their roster for opening night. Sunny and Texier are both on there. They wouldn’t put Sunny on there if he was hurt enough for IR or LTIR right?

Seems possible to me the whole Lucic thing is just a favor to an old vet.

Updates from Army’s presser:
Doug Armstrong on Milan Lucic's training camp PTO: "He got banged up the last couple (of preseason) games. We're going to rehab him here, get him back up health-wise to 100% and likely reconnect on an in-season PTO to get him up and running and see where he's at then." #stlblues
Milan Lucic is dealing with a lower-body injury that he will rehab here. #stlblues will extend his PTO in the 10-day increments and whether he earns a contract yet or not will be determined. #stlblues

Pretty evident how bad Monty wants him here
