Schlittler
This guy was just a so so prospect coming into this year but has looked like a future Ace this year. Yankees do a good job in developing pitching. Yankees were heavily after Donovan last off season. Thy would have easily traded Schlittler and Rice for him. Missed opportunity as Mo was only focused on Arenado.

If we make that trade is he as good under Dusty's tutelage?kyace wrote: ↑02 Oct 2025 19:30 pm This guy was just a so so prospect coming into this year but has looked like a future Ace this year. Re: Schlittler
He is dealing. 11 Ks, 0 BBs, 5 H, 0 R in 7 IP.
And looks like he's pitching in May. Ice water. No expression as he just left the mound to a rousing ovation.

Re: Schlittler
What an outing. The guy was drafted in the 7th round in 2022. Was only throwing in the low 90’s when drafted but they worked with him and now throwing 100. Wasn’t even a top 30 prospect last year.
Re: Schlittler
Liam Doyle is light years away from being that good.
Re: Schlittler
Opinion. I watched them both pitch on a couple of occasions.
The Yankee has better control, better secondary pitches and much, much more endurance.

Great point. This is how gambling works. Take a chance is the only way to get a payday. For Donovan it would now be a great move.kyace wrote: ↑02 Oct 2025 19:30 pm This guy was just a so so prospect coming into this year but has looked like a future Ace this year. Imagine this kid and Rice, minus Willy plus the prospect in return on this team. Great build around.
Re: Schlittler
The certitude of "he'll be great, we should have got him" based on one game and 73 innings is always amusing.

Re: Schlittler
His stats are impressive. He’s gone 5 innings or more in 9 of 11 starts. Another start was 4.2
He gave up zero or one run in every start five innings or more. Ironically he has two games less than five innings, both giving up 4 runs.
He seems to show endurance and effectiveness consistently.
Re: Schlittler
I would like to see proof that the Yankees were prepared to trade Schlitter and Rice for Donovan. Do you have a link to such information?kyace wrote: ↑02 Oct 2025 19:30 pm This guy was just a so so prospect coming into this year but has looked like a future Ace this year. Re: Schlittler
Yes - and he had 100 pitches after 7, but they sent him out for the 8th. 107 pitches total.
And I don’t know if he even pitched in AAA this season
His control was magnificent
All of the the Cards young pitchers need to work on endurance this off-season. If they can’t go beyond 4-5 innings, they don’t belong starting

Re: Schlittler
Like I stated, he went 5 plus innings 9 of 11 starts, with a 4.2 iP start. In today’s game, that may qualify as endurance. The Nard wrote: ↑03 Oct 2025 07:27 amYes - and he had 100 pitches after 7, but they sent him out for the 8th. 107 pitches total.

Re: Schlittler
This is a pretty silly take.
Cam is 3 years older. At 21, he was pitching for Northeastern, posted a 3.44 ERA with a K-rate of 8.3 per 9 innings. He was much better the year prior - 1.88 ERA / 10.0 K/9 his sophomore year.
Doyle at 21 had a 3.20 ERA and 15.4 K/9.

So, sort of like Ian Anderson whose is now forever etched in baseball's firmament.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑03 Oct 2025 07:10 amHis stats are impressive. He’s gone 5 innings or more in 9 of 11 starts. Another start was 4.2
