What an outing. The guy was drafted in the 7th round in 2022. Was only throwing in the low 90’s when drafted but they worked with him and now throwing 100. Wasn’t even a top 30 prospect last year.

Great point. This is how gambling works. Take a chance is the only way to get a payday. For Donovan it would now be a great move.

Imagine this kid and Rice, minus Willy plus the prospect in return on this team. Great build around.

His stats are impressive. He’s gone 5 innings or more in 9 of 11 starts. Another start was 4.2

He gave up zero or one run in every start five innings or more. Ironically he has two games less than five innings, both giving up 4 runs.

He seems to show endurance and effectiveness consistently.

His control was magnificent

All of the the Cards young pitchers need to work on endurance this off-season. If they can’t go beyond 4-5 innings, they don’t belong starting

Like I stated, he went 5 plus innings 9 of 11 starts, with a 4.2 iP start. In today’s game, that may qualify as endurance.

This is a pretty silly take.

Cam is 3 years older. At 21, he was pitching for Northeastern, posted a 3.44 ERA with a K-rate of 8.3 per 9 innings. He was much better the year prior - 1.88 ERA / 10.0 K/9 his sophomore year.

Doyle at 21 had a 3.20 ERA and 15.4 K/9.
