Arenado's season ending OPS

Post by C-Unit »

I'm scared to even say it

What does it mean for us, on this final day of the Mozeliak era?

Means that his Cardinal career netted 0 playoff game wins, a 778 career OPS, and fans dying to see him traded away.

Unbelievably disappointing if you told me in 2017/18 that Arenado would be a Cardinal in 2021 at just age 30

The OPS isn't what you'd expect from a hall of fame player. He declined very fast but it's not like some things didn't change. For one, he hasn't really had much protection in the line up. For another, it's a little harder to be a power hitter in Busch. And lastly, age is a factor. He had little control over playoff wins.

His 86 OPS+ in 2020 ended up being a sign

The sign was his road stats while a Rockie.

It was something like .790 ops, while his Coors stats were like .990…

Bum shoulder....changes your swing when your playing hurt and zaps your power...Arenado used to pull the ball with authority....it turned him into a complete shell of his former self...
