A better question is- who wants him? If you completely ignored the money and the no-trade clause and just looked at the player he is today- who wants him? Somebody does, but that list is short. Answer this question and then you can start to explore what you have to do to trade him and what you can get for him.

Mid to low level prospect and salary relief. He's still good defensively but not really average at the plate.

The answer to this question would seemingly revolve around their budgetary position for 2026.
A lot of $$ already coming off the books in players who are moving on(Matz, Helsley, Mikolas, Fedde, etc).
Best guess due to his NTC which Arenado seems more likely to waive?
They save as much in $$ as possible and get very little at all back in return.

So the remaining teams might well max offer a whole lot less than that, if anything. I predict the return from a whitelisted team could very likely not be worth doing any deal.

If Arenado is traded creating additional playing time for others. Take your pick at 3B and 2B between Gorman, Wetherholt and Saggese. Right now, Saggese probably serves as a utility type player. Especially, helping out against LHP. Wetherholt should be a fixture vs PHP and LHP. Maybe a Gorman/Saggese platoon is a possibility.

If Arenado is traded with additional playing time available. Take your pick at 3B and 2B between Gorman, Wetherholt and Saggese. Right now, Saggese probably serves as a utility trype player. Especially, helping out against LHP.

Weatherholt is the only one of those 3 that should be starting everyday. Gorman is a negative WAR player at 3b, and JJW himself will create a lot more WAR at 2b than at 3b. Saggese is also a 2b primarily, and should only be a backup.

The better 3B needs to come from outside the org. And until then, we should just keep using Nado. Its a sunk cost at this point.

That's a realistic expectation, BDWJr may have to pickup even more than 50%.

Agree. Everyone knows Arenado is well over the hill and nearing the bottom on the other side. Won''t fetch much.

I think they absorb enough salary to get him down to about 10M per season. Looking at the Los Angeles Angels and the Seattle Mariners as suitors. Would he go there?
