win vs Trojans

Post by 12xu »

Whew that was a nail biter! Illini offense was great except for the two fumbles at the goal line.......... The defense needs a lot of improvement. Giving up 95 pts the last two games is just not acceptable. USC made first downs on 4 4th down attempts. Illinois must tighten up the D at Purdue next week.

big rebound performance by the O line ....nice to see them actually, you know, blocking people. Running downhill. If it weren't for the 2 fumbles at the goal line, we'd have put up 48 pts on a pretty good D.

speaking of fumbles....did the replay booth have different angles than we had on Feagin's fumble at the goal line? Because if they didn't somebody needs to explain to me how they could possibly still consider that a fumble. It seemed clear as day to me that it wasn't.

Elzy left the team?....not sure I understand how that all went down. I don't really see any other WR heads and tails better, other than Beatty.

Also nice rebound performance by Lunney and the O coaching staff. That was a well-prepared team scheming to exploit strengths and avoid weak areas.

I know Feagin was effective, not knocking him, but can we get Valentine more than 9 touches?

Agree on the D ....started the season strong against the weaker opponents, but being exposed. Is X Scott out all year? Hope Heckel is a quick learner. I've been really disappointed in Jacas. I've yet to feel like he has really impacted a game. I tried focusing on him much of the game to see if he's just getting a lot of double teams, but I don't see it.
