Is/was Kyle Tucker injured this season?
He had a rough patch, but never heard about a specific injury. Not the best launch off into FA $$$$ pursuit.

Looks like he’s been out the last 3 wks with a calf injury
But he was playing like (bleep) well before that…..was most of his season dysfunction attributed to this calf injury?

This was noted in August and discussed here
CHICAGO -- Cubs right fielder Kyle Tucker, who has been given several days off this week for a reset amid his struggles at the plate, was diagnosed in June with a hairline fracture in his right hand, manager Craig Counsell confirmed Wednesday night.
Supposedly playing thru it since June

Yet playing with an injury, losing significant time to an injury, and being just terrible for a month, his stats would still be better this year than any St. Louis Cardinal player. Let that sink in

They paid steeply. The Astros received third baseman Isaac Paredes, now Astros 3B, right-handed pitcher Hayden Wesneski, now a starter for Houston, and rookie third base and Right Fielder Cam Smith. Now the Cubbies get to proffer a QO and watch to see who wants to buy Tucker and/or bid with the masses.TraveledLessRoad wrote: ↑25 Sep 2025 11:16 am Yet playing with an injury, losing significant time to an injury, and being just terrible for a month, his stats would still be better this year than any St. Louis Cardinal player. Given Tucker's injuries, they might be disappointed in the trade.

Cam Smith appears to be about as good as Jordan Walker, so i'm not sure the Cubs exactly had the wool pulled over their eyes on that one

He is performing to his overall career norms. 2024 was a 1/2 season outlier for him.
A very very very good player, but not an elite talent.

Walker doesn't have anything to do with anything. Cam Smith was the prospect traded and he had a decent rookie year as a 22 year old. The other two are solid veterans and everybody needs pitching. The Cubbies sure did when Steele went down.TraveledLessRoad wrote: ↑25 Sep 2025 12:23 pm Cam Smith appears to be about as good as Jordan Walker, so i'm not sure the Cubs exactly had the wool pulled over their eyes on that one

Paredes was really good until he got hurt. Smith shows a lot of upside but, wore down in the second half. Wesneski was hurt all year. All in all, I'd say the Astros did just fine. Especially since Tucker seems to be getting injured more the last couple years.hugeCardfan wrote: ↑25 Sep 2025 12:18 pmThey paid steeply. He would look good wearing birds on the bat but I doubt we can afford him.

Did you ever think about typing your question into Google?

It’s well established that CTers are a much better source than Google concerning MLB
Get a little conversation going…a little debate
But you do get the prize for the first fella to type “Google is your friend” rather than engage in the actual question.
Where should I send the prize?
