Of course he was always a massive cheaters in paying kids at TN and then AU. But you have to admire being a known career offender but the NCAA enforcement dudes couldn't pin him down. But you have to give him his due he was also a very good preparation guy and game coach. Always high energy and running all over the place he was entertaining and he knew how to get the boosters and students behind him at even an all football school like AU. You have to admire that.
tho admin refused to give his son coach in waiting contract and status he forced their hand with this brilliant move at start of practice and season around the corner. His son BAA's is a really good recruiter and coach and has a stacked roster so we shall see how it all turns out.

In 2011 the NCAA gave him a "show cause penalty" for three years. He worked for a wholesale grocery distribution company until 2014, when he was hired by Auburn. But you have to admire being a known career offender but the NCAA enforcement dudes couldn't pin him down.

Frankly he recruited the way most everyone else does, he was just better at it. And he’s just an outstanding coach. His record speaks for itself.
He became outspoken about politics recently and a lot of people don’t like his views. But even if you are on the opposite end of the political spectrum you have to give him credit for his coaching success.
