That was Pallante's last start of the season.

He was sort of in a season long slump.

Pallante simply allows too many baserunners. His WHIP is nearly the worst in all of MLB, along with Fedde & Mikolas also in the bottom 10. To think this was the majority of our rotation most of this season.

Pallante cannot be in the rotation to start 2026. Surely Bloom has a better plan than Mo.

OTH - if they announce in the offseason that Pallante has attended some sort of pitching lab and discovered a solution to his pitching woes we know nothing has changed.

It was mostly August and September though.

He went from so so to just awful. Shame.

If they trade Gray we need 3 starters. It might be necessary to keep him (Gray)

Of 137 ML SPs who threw at least 80 innings:
Liberatore was 97th in K/9 (7.24)
Pallante was 126th in K/9 (6.02)
Mikolas was 132nd in K/9 (5.71)
Fedde was 134th in K/9 (5.59) - 5.58 with STL
McGreevy was 135th in K/9 (5.27)

Seems to me it is very difficult to win without a strikeout pitch; even harder to win without a strike out pitcher.

That is 5 of the top 6 starters for Cards. The only other starter who is supposed to be the Ace is Gray who will make $35M next year at 36 years old. Gray currently has his worse ERA in the last 7 years at 4.33 ERA and has given up more hits than IP.
The Cardinals could use 5 starting pitchers. All the pitchers on the team are #4 or #5 pitchers at best.

I think Libby will be a fine three. Then Pallante will be the five- a toss up game.
Mcg makes a fine four. Gray a fine two.
Need that stud.

Remember earlier this year when many of you raved about Pallante in a thread about whether he could be number 2?
