Re: Get the ball to Hardy in open spaces
If Hardy can catch passes in the flat and get a step or 2 momentum he’s going to run right over some DB’s. That would be swell.
Agree in the article, Roberts is no slouch in that department. He’s dangerous too.
LOVE our running game.

I actually like Roberts in the open field....referencing here to avoid tacklers and evade.Armchair QB wrote: ↑23 Sep 2025 21:59 pm If Hardy can catch passes in the flat and get a step or 2 momentum he’s going to run right over some DB’s. That would be swell.

I also have to think he has the greater upside potential....not sure how Hardy can get much better than he is.
Re: Get the ball to Hardy in open spaces
When Badie was here, he was a huge part of the pass game. I think Roberts could be used more, but with the offense focused on the run game and a stud receiving corps, there are only so many pass attempts to go around. Roberts does have 5 receptions for 56 yards and 1 TD. Hardy has just 1 reception for 2 yards. Cody Schrader had 41 receptions for 328 yards in his 2 years in CoMo.

totally agree they need to get both out on wheel routes or simply releasing from the backfield to open areas. Would be very effective especially against man to man defenses. Roberts especially has shown good hands in last two seasons and would be uber effective out there. Also it would slow up pass rush as he is a great blocker and after throwing a block slipping out is always effective in CFB.
