Re: Arenado's 5 years in St. Louis (stats )
It is a shame he was in the shadow of Miles Mikolas the entire time.
Re: Arenado's 5 years in St. Louis (stats )
Nine figures don’t buy much anymore.
Re: Arenado's 5 years in St. Louis (stats )
All that and he is still a bust. The last two years have been dismal. Playoff performance was terrible. When it came time lead ( by performance) he couldn’t be found.

The difference between getting a hitter at 26 and 30.

Great point. NA wasn’t the P[ositively] O[bnoxious] S[impleton] people say he was because he got old. His hard nosed play over the years likely advanced his decline too. I hope he finds a good spot and finishes better. Big fan of NA.

Re: Arenado's 5 years in St. Louis (stats )
To be honest, his 1st 3 years in regular season was very good overall. His last 2 was obvious decline - I don't know if he would have ever signed off with a better gm negotiating with him, but I'm sure we could have gotten rid of his contract if we traded him 2 years ago when he started to show signs of decline.
Still worth the contract - we just have a sucky GM, IMO that did not support him and Goldy outside of maybe the Pujols year to see what he would have looked like with other great players.

Are you high? It’s not close.
Re: Arenado's 5 years in St. Louis (stats )
Take Rolen any day of week and twice on Sunday. More clutch….more impactful….

If we acknowledge NADO has been hurt his last two season and we take their first three full seasons here:Goldfan wrote: ↑23 Sep 2025 09:06 amTake Rolen any day of week and twice on Sunday. More clutch….more impactful….
Rolen:
67 HR
256 RBI
.289 .384 .533 .917
137 OPS+
3 AS games
2 GG
Top 4 MVP finish
NADO:
90 HR
301 RBI
.271 .328 .495 .824
126 OPS+
3 AS games
2 GG
Top 3 MVP finish
The edge does go to Rolen, but still da mn close.

I wanted NA here, but I’ve soured on him after seeing his lack of leadership, aloofness at times, and moping aroundrockondlouie wrote: ↑23 Sep 2025 09:12 amIf we acknowledge NADO has been hurt his last two season and we take their first three full seasons here:Goldfan wrote: ↑23 Sep 2025 09:06 amTake Rolen any day of week and twice on Sunday. I'm still a fan, he gave us three great seasons and has been dinged up the last two.Goldfan wrote: ↑23 Sep 2025 09:17 amI wanted NA here, but I’ve soured on him after seeing his lack of leadership, aloofness at times, and moping aroundrockondlouie wrote: ↑23 Sep 2025 09:12 amIf we acknowledge NADO has been hurt his last two season and we take their first three full seasons here:Goldfan wrote: ↑23 Sep 2025 09:06 amTake Rolen any day of week and twice on Sunday. I'd make that deal 100/100 times.
