GDT: Chickens @ Tigers -- 6 -- ESPN
Well, I just read the bad news that Green will be out for this game. We shall see what Richardson is like.
Here are a few things I'll be watching for:
1. Beamer Ball. Special teams need to show up in a major way against a Beamer-coached team. They have 3 punt returns for TDs already and a blocked punt for a TD as well. Special teams for the Tigers have hardly been special for years now in returns or coverage. Special attention will have to be paid on any Tigers punts and PKs. Beamer will go for blocks if they're available.
2. Pass blocking against their edges and in the middle by Tollison and Peagler, who both have been shaky at times. We may see Wilson at RG if Peagler has problems.
3. The run game will be critical to winning TOP and limiting opportunities for Sellers. How much Green's absence will affect it is anyone's guess.
4. Keeping Sellers contained, though he may not be apt to run as much having just suffered a concussion. And getting a pass rush to help out the secondary. I'm guessing Batoon goes with more man and less zone coverage, as that seems to be a better fit for his players. But playing man leaves the D more susceptible to Sellers scrambling because defenders don't have their eyes on the QB. It will be a real chess game here.
5. How will Drink handle the PK situation with Meyer? Will he go for it on 4th just about every time on 4th and short or medium in lieu of a FG attempt outside of, say, 35 yards?
I'm optimistic but nervous. SC always seems to play the Tigers close.
MIZ!

I think the teams that control the line scrimmage will win and if we get more than 250yds rushing we win, if not SC wins.
Re: GDT: Chickens @ Tigers -- 6 -- ESPN
One more thing: I think they are wearing the all-black unis. Those are bad a**.

This is me over analyzing but I always love night games wearing all black because I always think it’s just a tad harder for the QB to see one of our defenders lurking and could lead to an INT. No idea if there’s any science behind that idea.

Absolutely. Can’t let SC turn it into an ugly rock fight. That’s more their style. And can’t let Sellers have big plays. That’s what got us at the end of last year’s.

This should be a highly charged, revenge game for the Tigers after the disappointing loss to South Carolina last season.

Almost game time. The 1st SEC test is here. Hope they pass. And run. And block. And cover. And tackle. And never kick, except for Xtra points.

Nothing going on the first offensive drive. Bad punt gives SC the ball at their own 20.
Re: GDT: Chickens @ Tigers -- 6 -- ESPN
Pribula with happy feet back there so far. And why is Loyd out there on 3rd down? He wasn't open, couldn't see on TV whether anyone else was open.
