It's from The Athletic so it's behind a paywall, but it's great to know camp starts a week from today. LGB! :D

The first day of camp will be Sept. 18, when the Blues begin split-squad practices at Centene Community Ice Center. The first of six preseason games will be Sept. 20 against the Dallas Stars.

Training Camp will begin with 58 players on the roster on Sept. 18. All practice sessions at @STLCIC are free and open to the public. #stlblues

To get us ready for the start of the season, The Athletic came up with the top five competitions to watch in camp.

Who centers the second line: Schenn or Suter?

It's been a few years since I've been to a Blues training camp. Just put the schedule in my calendar, gonna try to catch one or two sessions, if possible.

Pick 2 out of 4 to make the opening night roster:

Texier
Joseph
Dvorsky
Lucic

While I’d like to see Dvorsky, I don’t think he’s ready. Maybe he proves me wrong. I would guess Joseph and Lucic, Texier gets waived or traded and Dvo starts in the AHL.

I was leaning Dvorsky until tonights game, looks like he could use a little more seasoning in the AHL.

I like Joseph's speed, demeanor and ability to backcheck. I'd have to go Lucic & Joseph as well.

I think Texier and Joseph. Texier is 3rd line RW with Suter and Neighbours. Extras are Walker and Joseph.

I don't know, Montgomery & Julien are big fans of Milan Lucic.

Im throwing Carbonneau in this 3rd RW battle for the time being. If in camp he shows hes a better option than either Texier, Joseph or Dvorsky then the Blues will look at Carbonneau

I think it's fine to throw him in order to help build his confidence. Even keep him up until the final cuts, but I think he has about a 1% chance of staying. He's looked fine, but he is nowhere close to NHL ready. I really want to see Dvorsky show up determined and ready. He could make that 3rd line something special if he could make the team on the wing. My gut tells me he is the last cut before the season opens. :(

I think DVO is a mid/late season call up

I think it will be the same two as last year.
If you waive Texier, he might keep his money and go back to France.

The romantic in me hopes Lucic has used his sober time to take 4-5 years off his actual age

The strange coincidence part of me allows that Bolduc being gone, motivates Texier enough to play with fire.he is very good whenever he finds a way to bring it.

That's what I think he should do; go home and bond with his family, work on his game and focus on the Olympics. Then come back next season, renegotiate a contract with the Blues and be ready for the 26-27 season.

I think Looch ends up with the James Neal deal and ends up in a couple games but ends the season in Springfield. Unless we find out his demons have actually been playing his last couple seasons.

I know I am in the minority thinking here, but I believe it will be Texier and Lucic that make it out of those 4.
