Gorman is no 3rd baseman
All Gorman has to do is pick the ball up and we win 1-0. That is the 2nd possibly third game he has cost us in the last 10 games at third base. Really makes you realize how many runs Arenado saves at third.
As usual Cards can’t get runners home from third with less than two outs. They are 3-14 on the road trip. 0-3 today. Seattle 3-6

He's had more than enough time and chances. Hopefully he'll be gone by next year.

Easily the worst in the league. And he doesn’t hit the position. Why so many amateurs can see that and those in the know can’t.
Re: Gorman is no 3rd baseman
At least hes a great hitter.
Re: Gorman is no 3rd baseman
Are we talking about the "unicorn" and the player that reminds them of Eddie Mathews?
Re: Gorman is no 3rd baseman
Just call him Old Iron Glove or Clank.

He is also not really a good second baseman either. He is a 1B / DH type. Gee, we really need another one of those.... If they can get WC to waive the NTC then maybe that clears a spot. But the bat isn't that impressive either, although NG has shown signs of more maturity at the plate. Perhaps he will continue to develop. Or, quite possibly, this is who he is.... sigh....

I agree. That, and the fact that you have little starting pitching, and not one hitter in the lineup who should bat 2,3,4 on a really good team. WC has done a decent job at 1B, but he is a #5 or 6 bat in a good lineup. Pretty sad. Gorman and Walker have done zip. Donovan is hurt. Burley is who he is. Again, a #6 bat. Noot is useless. Sure, he gets hot now and then, but the rest of the time... Winn is a great defensive SS and should hit #7 o 8 at this point in his career. Ozzie couldn't hit when he came up and Winn is far ahead of that pace already. There are only a couple of guys I would keep on this roster and would listen to offers on all of the rest of them, including the uniKKKorn.Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑11 Sep 2025 09:52 amHim being a 1b/DH isn’t that big of a problem him being a 1B/DH type that can’t hit is a problembccardsfan wrote: ↑11 Sep 2025 09:28 am He is also not really a good second baseman either. Wetherholt will start next season. It's just a question whether it's at 3B or 2B. If it's the latter where will Donovan play? Perhaps LF? It depends on where and if Gorman is in the plans for 2026.

I think if you're using Gorman, his best position is 2B (best defense, and where the offense carries the most value). His alternative best use is rotating between 2B/1B/3B/DH and starting 50-75% of the time.redbirdfan51 wrote: ↑11 Sep 2025 10:14 am Wetherholt will start next season. If Wetherholt can play 3B, it's something to think about. But I don't think you move Wetherholt off his position and down the defensive chart just to give Gorman more chances. And I still think Gorman could potentially be valuable as a starting 2B. It's a tough situation.
My feeling is to carve out 2B for Wetherholt, give him his position. Hopefully the organization has learned from jacking players around. Gorman comes secondary to Wetherholt at this point.
