The saying in baseball is .... You have to get 27 outs on the opposition to win the game ! Tonight, the Giants could only muster 24 outs vs. the Cardinals . The Cardinals scored the three winning runs in the 9th on Walker's liner with the Giants having registered no outs vs. the Cardinals as the game ended.

24 out for 8 innings allowing 0 runs doesn't quite do it .

The reason they won is because my wife and I got up and left right before they hit in the 9th. We had just got seated on the train when I saw the score pop up on my phone. Whatever it takes, I guess! lol!

Had the 3rd baseman caught Walker’s liner it might very well have been a triple play! Would that not have been the most 2025 Cardinalish thing ever?

Sometimes in life it’s a mere game of inches.

That was a great win, no doubt!

3 hits through 8, pitcher hadn’t been scored on in his previous 10 outings, and the Birds slapped him around for the big W.
