Who fetches most on trade market for pitching

Post by hmoss859 »

Burleson
Donovan
Gorman
Nootbaar
Herrera
Scott
Walker
Crooks or Pages

Cause 2 or 3 of these dudes need to be moved for pitching and roster/position redundancy

Herrera and only if that team has somewhere to play him. Nobody else gets you even a number 2-3 guy.

Nothing there is going to bring back anything that would make much of a difference, unfortunately.

Totally depends on the team we're trading with...also depends on how much/man on this list you're willing to part with in a deal. But, Donovan + Gorman is an attractive offer for mostly anyone. Throw in Crooks and I have to think that nets you a #2 starter.

No way I’m giving up those 3 for a pitcher.

Burleson would dangerous as DH in small park
Donovan solid player
Herrera if allowed to catch by another organization

The rest of them, not much return

It is likely that 3 from the group of Donovan, Mootbaar, Herrera, Scott, Walker, and Pozo will be traded as STL puts together various packages and scenarios.
Saggese, Church, and Prieto could be ingredients in the stew as well.
But if he decides "Chaim-really-wanting-to-move-the needle", look for Bloom to use Rodriguez and/or Jesus Baez as the real bait for pitching - with Chase Davis available if there is interest.

Donovan would get us the equivalent of a Monty, when he first came here. A very servicable 3, or probably a #2 in our rotation.

I would love to see those prospects flipped for real value. I really don't see Jesus turning into the next EDLC or Witt Jr. He's only 5-10" 180 lbs. Witt is 6-1 and listed at 200 (maybe more now). EDLC is 6-5!

Only if we are getting a Hunter Greene in return.

Yea a legit ACE for a light hitting defense specialist. Lower your value of Winn.

The problem with that list is no centerpiece for a deal for a high quality starter. Would have to add a high end prospect, which they can’t afford to part with. Donovan might’ve fit the bill if he had more years remaining, but even then you’d have to throw all those other JAGs in there with him. FA $$ is the only path, and an unlikely one. This situation looks like a long rebuild project.

Still he's our WAR leader. You don't trade that unless you can get an ACE. Add someone else in the package if needed. Just if the return isn't there, you keep Winn.

None of them are going to get a teams top prospects but if you trade Donovan and burly or Donovan and Herrera then yea you could probably get a decent prospect. Burly and Donovan and Herrera have the most value in my opinion
